What doesn't add up at all is that it is reported that the French shadowed the Portsmouth dingy but could not stop it because it was unsafe to do so, but the RNLI deem it safe to rescue the migrants. We get told some totally unbelievable stories.

I'd like to know more about the French shadowing them, if it is as simple as that it's appaling. But it does show how stupid this plan is:- https://www.standard.co.uk/new

Plaid Cymru the party for Wales and the people of Wales, what an absolute joke that is, they've done the square root of F'all so far. Except talk about their own agendas that they think will make themselves look good in those area's.

It's part of the Marxist view of how things should be as defined in the Classless Communist Society. The ultimate goal is a society with no private property, no borders, no money, and no government state, where resources are shared collectively to meet everyone's needs If you use that end state as lens for the decisions that are being taken you get to understand what is happening.

| New arrivals but different locations on 18:15 - Sep 8 with 1691 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I read it as the French policy tightening up the Dover Calais route. The new route is much longer more dangwrous and higher risk from rough seas and drowning. The migrants themselves would understand the higher risk and less likely to take it presumably and possibly gave to pay more. Arrivals are substantially down. In 2026 The causes are not known. | |

It was all planned last weekend the fact that the buses were all there the tents with clothes the food tents, you don't get all that sorted and ready in a couple of hours he wants them here and he's gonna have the taxpayer paying for it all.

Exactly what happened is very murky. When the boat was about 14 miles from the French coast the engine failed and the boat was drifting. A French vessel approached the distressed passengers who had used mobile phones to summon help. Life jackets were issued and it is reported that work was done on a outboard motor to get it started, though there was insufficient fuel to reach the UK.. There is a question about whether the French helped make the engine operational. In this part of the Channel there is a gap between French and UK waters. It is unclear whether the breakdown was actually in international waters. There must have been a considerable time when the migrant dinghy was in international waters nearer a safe French port than a British one. I think it may well have been lawful for a British vessel to "rescue" the migrants there and return them to the nearest safe port. https://www.express.co.uk/news [Post edited 9 Sep 8:15]

Of course I don't want them here. I have never said I do. But it's pointless underestimating how hard it is to stop them coming here or beliving guff about it being planned. The buses were there becasue they'd been refused entry to two ports so the buses had loads of time to get to the port they disembarked at and took them to the migrant centre. I'd guess that they weren't and aren't rescued by France becasue they didn't want to be, It's got to be dangerous attempting to go alongside a boat of 140 people in the pitch black many miles offshore who are refusing to be rescued. They obviously want to be rescued by the RNLI becasue they'll end up here. My solution would be to remove the pull factor. As in stop buying their services. If the scum who are targetting the RNLI volunteers targetted those using Barbers, Car washes, Vape shops and food delivery apps then they may get somewhere - they won't do this becasue they are probably the same people protesting. For the record I have never used any of these and I never will.

I don't think advanced planning by the UK authorities was involved. However, just regarding a matter of detail, the French vessel Abeille Liberté did go alongside the dinghy when it was drifting with the engine stopped 14 miles off Utah Beach and about an hour into the 70 mile trip (see various reports including the link two posts up). Life jackets were handed to migrants, and some social media posts suggest the French got the engine or a second engine going. The dinghy, which would not have been able to reach the UK without help, was then shepherded to the RNLI lifeboats. The French help seems to be the most questionable aspect of the recent incident.

That might have been the best option to save lives. But yes questions absolutely have to raised of the assistance that France provide. Again though we have to be realistic about the situation, they don't want to be in France and France don't want them to be there. It's going to take huge anounts of diplomacy and cash to get them to help the UK out. We're not in a strong negotiating position. This kind of nonsense, and it is nonsense would make the situation worse. https://news.sky.com/video/we- I've actually just watched it again - and he blames the weather for the reduction in migrnat crossings? Were they afraid of getting sunstroke? This guy is an abject fool. [Post edited 9 Sep 12:26]

Nope, none of them really. Someone who admits the state we're in and budgets accordingly. Substantially reduce the welfare bill, force people in to work and raise taxes to get the kind of public services a civilised country should expect
