Should we be concerned by tonights result? Surely a PL team should be doing better even with quite a few 21s playing...

Results mean nothing in pre season games. The 11 out there tonight have probably never played together before.

Premier clubs play weakened teams in cup competitions and get knocked out.

We play a team that is mostly made up of players not near the first team squad and lose to a Championship outfit. No worry from me

Newcastle lost to Orient 6 -1 last week ..................

Guess they got more to worry about than us.

Game taught us nothing we didn't already know.

Additional options at RB and DM would be lovely. Otherwise, nothing to see here.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I very much doubt that's true

Nothing to worry about.

I thought the game was a totally pointless idea but in fairness i think Monk had to put in a few more younger players than he would have wanted due to first team injuries .

I think the idea was to play a "youthful" team and put some of them up against seasoned professionals but because of injuries it turned into a youth team !

Point of interest how many of the Bournemouth team were seasoned professionals.Pitman was one.

I dont know 100% but im guessing that they wouldn't be looking to play the youth against a premier league team a week before their season starts .

This OP is pretty f*cking negative too,he'd heard a rumour two weeks ago that Monk saw Tate as being able to do a job in the PL and he was getting rid of Amat because of Tate.
You don't have to look too deep to see who the negative f*ckers are even though he'll pop in and say he isn't.

In fairness to monk, he did not play any youth players.

Friendlies give us a good opportunity to put all our squad on the pitch. Even gives some of the youngsters a run out. Which reminds me, league cup next season, lets play our reserves for each game. And why not??

My methods are not favoured by some but by god i speak the truth.

THIS.

friendlies are to test the effectiveness of strategy and training. we need to see how everyone is taking to it. what is working and what's not. can't do that if its always first team.
