Anybody here work for Swansea Council? 00:45 - Apr 28 with 3651 viewsLohengrin

Does anybody know who has responsibility for the big screen in Castle Garden, who sets the channels or what have you?

There was a pro Brexit/far right rally planned for there yesterday I believe. No idea if anyone turned up. It was raining for a while after all.

Just looking for some clarity as regards a conversation yesterday. A chap I know was wondering how much it may cost to take out an ad on the big screen is all. I took a guess at it being a council owned/managed facility, somebody else suggested it was a private enterprise.

I thought this was as likely a place as any on a Sunday to find an answer.

I saw a bit of it, Clase. We had a couple of pints in what was Yates around midday. Only a couple before heading up to Morfa; a combination of the equally eye-watering prices and interior decor sent us back to the pavement in short order.

Have you seen it in there now? As one of the boys said “we’re a bit like Liberace’s backing band standing here, aren’t we?”

I haven’t been in there for years, it’s the Slug and Lettuce now innit? Due to be going there for my “leaving do” (not that I’m actually leaving, long story) with work in a couple of weeks.

It's a bleak dirty unkept void in my opinion.

Why it needs a massive feckin television blaring away unwatched all day is merely the icing on a pretty shitty cake...

That’s the name. You’re right, I was trying to remember it and coming up blank.

Take a fistful of cash with you if you’re drinking in a round would be my advice to you!

Leaving? Moving section or department I take it in your relentless bid for world domination...

Something like that aye. I don’t intend to be buying the drinks that day.

I used to like it as it was in the early ‘70s when I used to feed the pigeons with my Grandfather.

Can you just imagine the poverty of mind it took to not only suggest but approve of digging it all up and replacing the flower beds with concrete?

What we can't see is Oldjack lurking in front of that pigeon.
The human colander they called him in those days.

He’s off camera to the left. Little Lisa is looking over thinking ‘what’s that bloke doing behind the dwarf conifer in broad daylight? If I can hold it in until I get home why can’t he?’

I had a pint with Fireboy in the Full Moon. Guinness was £2.50 a pint. That's more like it.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Wig and Pen is cheap as chips too. Four pints for a tenner.

Used to love it like that, spent many a truanting day there (regretfully now i may add). The Winos used to congregate under the shelter.

Yeah! must have taken someone with a degree in idiocy to replace the garden with concrete, sadly there are still so many people in power with similar qualifications.

Who, me? Good Lord no! None of that caper for me, thank you very much.

If I had the remote it would 24-hour wall-to-wall Ealing comedies. Part entertainment, part wardrobe tips.
