Jaxs.I booked Dodd once when I was Police Fed rep in Liverpool and he turned up 1 hour late as dishevelled as you could imagine.
He brought his own ale.
He went on until 1am but did warn everyone there they would have to ring the babysitter and cancel the taxi. Not a cliche but true.
Mad a a hatter but a great bloke and a genuine one who loved Liverpool, the city ,its people and he never lived anywhere else.
He was not from a poor family but was a born artist . He loved the sound of laughter but he was very methodical, like you wouldn't believe. His act was word perfect, every nuance possible and not blue but suggestive.
A legend in the true sense of the word but for me Mick Miller shades him.

He got paid cash too.
A comedy genius in my eyes ðŸ‘
You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

YouKnowWho? Fvck me, you sound like some gossiping schoolgirl! Act your age ffs!
YouKnowWho kept asking me where I lived, I think he wanted to come around and do naughty things to me bum, now that would bring tears to me eyes, but I never replied to him, then I suddenly got banned, odd coincidence that, so best not mention its name
As you know I had the pleasure of meeting Ken at Radio Merseyside about 10 years ago. Absolutely bonkers but a nice man. His statue in Lime Street always brings a smile.

Dodd?Yes,but so is Miller,o was Arthur Askey,Kenny Everett,Alexie Sayle ,Tom Oconnor and Freddie Starr
I know comedy is subject to taste but Alexei Sayle has never even made me raise a smile, even though I love the Young Ones and all the other comic strip lot.
The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Give 'Alexei Sayle's Imaginary Sandwich Bar' a go, it's a show on Radio 4. I reckon he has improved over the years.
