I'd be a bit disappointed if this was the "big signing" being touted around if I'm being honest. I think he'd be worth a punt if we were swapping for Dhanda but he didn't get many games last year for Leeds either did he? Edit - My Leeds supporting mate thought it was border line match fixing when he was brought on against Brighton Saturday so that shows what they think of him up there. [Post edited 18 Jan 2021 12:31]

Never ever swap dhanda for him different type players Roberts is more a centre forward who offers little, where as dhanda a number 10 who tries create things something we not got if we lose him | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I wouldn't want to lose Dhanda necessarily but Cooper doesn't fancy him at all. For me he doesn't want to play a "10" anyway. I'd rather us sign Hourihane.

Dhanda has made 14 appearances this season granted some from bench, but if we going for win new the perfect player or if we chasing the game, why go for hourihane who would be another loan and wehererdoes that leave us again when called back, prob on 3 or 4 times yan wages.then always looking for players to fill roll..keep yan he's ours who can get better as well young and hungry

Could we be mimicking Liverpool front line, for Firminio read T.Roberts and for Salah and Mane read Ayew and Lowe, different quality players but similar style perhaps. Liverpool as good as they are lack creativity in midfield after they sold Coutinho to buy the rest of the jigsaw, they get creativity from their fullbacks, Swans get our creativity to a degree from our fullbacks. Dhanda might suit Leeds style and who knows T.Roberts might suit our style if he is alongside Ayew and Lowe. I would under normal circumstances like to keep Dhanda as he can create/score and is an option from the bench if we are chasing a game but Cooper does not seem to fancy him and likes a rigid workman like midfield with no fancy Dan's but if this swap happens it might suit us at this time.

If your suggesting a front 3 then who do you take out thee middle of midfield to accommodate Roberts up front, leaving us with 2 in thee middle of midfield.Liverpool play with a back 4 completely different formation to us they play 433 or 4321 where as we play 352 or3511.we would lose a man in middle of midfield and Tyler Roberts ain't the most mobile to work hard in that system sala firminho and mane are mobile Roberts aint

T.Roberts for Smith. Something like:- Woodman Bennett, Cabango, Guehi Roberts, Grimes, Fulton, Bidwell Ayew, T.Roberts, Lowe 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-2-1 depending on whether T.Roberts is alongside Ayew and Lowe or deeper than those two or Infront of those two .

So you would have Roberts and bidwell in a tight midfield 4 glad your not picking the team [Post edited 18 Jan 2021 18:33]

If a team plays wingbacks, the fashion is to show wing backs as being in midfield these days, the Beeb website being a case in point showing our formation as a 3-4-1-2 against Barnsley with Roberts, Grimes, Fulton and Bidwell being the 4 Infront of the defence and Smith in behind Ayew and Lowe up front.

Exactly smith sits back when we not got the ball but bidwell and Roberts are always wide the system you are saying with 3 up front means we lose a man in midfield unless we play a back 4 like Liverpool, but if your playing a back 3 with 4 in midfield and 3 up front with bidwell and Roberts tight, what happens when you come up a team with 5 across the middle it means Roberts and bidwell gets pushed wide to mark their wing backs leaving our 2 in the middle up against 3..your system wouldn't work with 3 then a tight 4 we would get exposed especially with Roberts who ain't a dog Tyler roberts [Post edited 18 Jan 2021 18:50]

That won’t happen It’s out of the question so a pointless discussion really We won’t be changing a system that has worked so well and suits our players

It's not my system, it's a system that could be played, T.Roberts could drop back into midfield when we haven't got the ball, he might not be as effective as K.Smith at that but you would expect he would be more effective than K.Smith when the team is attacking. Don't forget tackling is basically not allowed in modern football a player particularly a midfield player is just filling a space and hoping to make an interception these days.

Then there no point playing that system the way you want to play is 2 full backs as orthodox midfielders and when we not got ball ask a out and out centre forward drop and dog as a midfielder instead of as natural one..talk about square pegs in round hole a perhaps ask Freddie to play up front..

I'm not advocating changing the team or playing T.Roberts in place of Smith, it's what can be done if there is some swap deal with Leeds, I would not sell Dhanda if he is happy to stay and would keep the same team and team formation for the second half of the season, but sometimes that is not always possible. I would pick the same team and formation as Cooper and do the same subs (often no or little subs). [Post edited 18 Jan 2021 19:21]

The idea is the wing backs attack when we have the ball and defend when we don't, a deep lying or false centre forward drops into midfield and fills a space when we haven't got the ball. T.Roberts is not an out and out centre forward.
