It is amazing how a team with a manager who doesn't motivate them currently sit 2nd.
I guess some would rather a McCarthy / Warnock style manager on the touch line.
Its fuking embarrassing our fans reaction after a point against one of our PROMOTION rivals when we played the last 20 mins with 10 men.
Morning. Amazing how players can cover for a manager too and how utterly inept he is when need arise.Last night,Nuaghton was appalling AGAIN and should have been hooked half time.
Cooper, shamefully, didnt do that and it i down to Cooper we went down to ten men.

It's amazing, I'm utterly convinced some want Cooper to fail. One especially. That will turn out to be a good point against the best team in the league.
You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Wrong.Again.
Were you happy with Bennett being benched and Naughton taking his place
Were you happy waiting for subs to be introduced fully 15 mins from time
Were you happy to see a player so obviously inadequate be kept on only to be dismissed ,as was obvious.

Our goal was pure luck btw .
If you're happy then good for you
Quite right. I can see the reasoning behind picking Naughton to add experience as Bennett is obviously not fit, but given his first half performance changes should have been made during the break. We had Bennett, Latibeaudiere and Manning who could have been used directly in the back line; we had Dhanda, Cooper, Morris and Garrick who could have been brought on in midfield and allow Robberts or Bidwell to play as traditional full backs ... so many option and Cooper took none of them. We had to revert to hitting long hopeful balls to players who were being marked out of the game and had no speed to outpace their full backs when a ball did get played into space. Many are saying we should be pleased with the outcome!!! We got really, really lucky. We had 5 yellow cards, we had 2 shot to Brentford's 21, 1 shot on target versus 5 for them, we had just 35% possession, 1 corner to their 9 and that was down to being over run and out-thought.

Even a half fit Bennett would have been a better option. That said,he was on the bench and showed no reaction in his last game.
Hourohane is not match fit either but played almost the whole game. Crazy some cannot see it.
Ayew was non existant too and should have been brought off for a fired up fay Garrick to stretch them more.

I think you are right, there are some on here that would prefer us to drop back to mid-table mediocrity so they could say ‘I told you so’ rather than see us get promoted & have to begrudgingly admit that Cooper had done ok.
Hey ho takes all sorts I’m told.
PS the Brentford bloke is correct, although rather than just moan about how lucky we were I would have been a tad more concerned about their inability to be clinical, that will just them if it’s not sorted.

You (& others) quite often berate Cooper for not rotating players, seems when he does he gets slated for that as well.
If he had played Bennett & he pulled a hamstring after playing2 full games after coming back from an injury no doubt that would of been wrong.
Naughton (who I have been very critical of when we were in the PL) has been awesome the last 18 months I didn't see many moaning about his inclusion when the team was announced.
As Raynor says Cooper doesn't fit some peoples agenda as what they want as Swansea City manager that is obvious to see.

Perch, with respect you have only one topic, your dislike of Cooper.
He's far from the finished article, but I'm very happy with what he's achieved.
Ray. With respect,my name aint perch. Its an old username that simply draws unwarranted insults and abuse,so quit it now. This site is different. We dont insult people for the ake of it.
And yep,I detest woodman AS A KEEPER. Now ,after you have swallowed that, move the fark on .
By the way,I also detest young Cabango getting pelters when he and Guehi-who is outstanding, have to cover for this "goalkeeper" that clearly attracts the pity vote.
So we got lucky last night, anyone remember the corresponding fixture when we scored a perfectly good goal in the dying seconds of the match that wasn't give?, a case of you win some, you lose some

"we don't unsult people for the sake of it"
Our team is 2nd in the division and you repeatedly level all manner of insults at him!

As much as I dislike the bloke I can't disagree with that.
We had an off night. They had a good night. It happens.
But even with ten men for the last half an hour and a sub par performance we got a point and stay second. That bodes well.
Let’s be honest we were outplayed, outfought and outthought from the first minute to the last and somehow still managed to emerge with a point and reclaim an automatic spot.
That has to go down as a good night.
An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

I so miss the days pre internet when we would have had a moan over a pint then be glad of a saved point. Cooper is still learning this game was a must not lose as if we did Brentford would be sat second in the table with a game in hand and a point ahead of us. Cooper is looking at the long game. People talk of changing formation I would not have risked Dhanda in that game he would have been knocked off the ball. Many on here called for Ayew to be rested which he has been I think he looked off the pace...so much for resting him. Cooper and certain players are getting pilloried on here again we drew against a form side even though we were down to 10 men... I wonder how the Man U boards are after they lost at home to a side who has struggled all season. Cooper is still learning for the moment we are in a good position let's support him and our players instead of delighting in attack when blips occur

Bennett was obviously not 100% fit, and we have Rotherham Saturday.
The situation we were in with 10 men and 20 mins to yes, who would you have changed?
Totally ott over Naughton, not his finest game, but has had nowhere a bad season as you make out.
We are second in the league going into the second half of the season, and that's down to Cooper
No, it is NOT down to Cooper, it is down to the Trainers, Coaches, Players and Cooper. But the failure to not sub Naughton was 100% down to Cooper (plus Naughton) and no-one else. I could see it, my son could see it even my grand children could see it.

Tactics were wrong from the off ,sat far to deep and give them to much respect, I'd have loved to seen us having a right good go at them , I'm sure we'd have taken all 3 points instead of a jammy 1

Welcome back, I understand you are one of the old school ADO 💪ðŸ‘
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
They targeted Naughton put a big and fast forward on him, in one on one situations he struggled with height and pace for all his experience hence the first booking. They did the same in the second leg of the play off semi final, can't remember if we change around in the second half of that game but we did play better or maybe they dropped off. Could we change it in the second half and not bring Bennett on if he was worried about him, yes bring Manning on for Naughton and drop Bidewell into the back three, Manning seem to link well with Hourihane. A lot of games we dominated the back three have pressed high up the park winning the aerial battle and not given the forward time on the ball, the only reason I can see not to do that would be worrying about the pace of the forwards to capitalise on through or over the top balls, is Cooper worried that against the better teams we will be unable to stop them? Derby (being low in the league) against us were the better team on the day, did Cooper get the tactics wrong, more often than not this season he has got it right and if not changed it, some have worked some not. Work in progress, new players in will give him options but hopefully not upset the balance of the team. We all want to see nice flowing football but we also want the wins, hopefully for rest of the season we can have both.
