The Bafta Film Awards have unveiled a highly diverse nominations list, with 16 of the 24 acting nominees this year coming from ethnic minority groups.
But the biggest surprise is in the acting categories. Not one actor of colour was nominated last year, so the British Academy had faced pressure to diversify this year's nominees.
Zero nominations last year was wrong but 16 out of 24 is also wrong but in the other direction... but thats Ok, the luvvies will love themselves even more now

People should be nominated because they deserve it. not because of their ethnicity. I just hope all the nominees really deserve it. | |

If those people are deserving of winning good on them.
Winning an award because of the colour of skin or any reason other than you being the best person to win the award, would leave a pretty empty feeling if you had any self esteem.
Its quite telling that those who think its a good thing on this thread Id imagine to be pretty weak people in life, the type who would be happy to pick up an award because people felt sorry for them. |  | | |
