RNLI.What unbelievable people. Until people need them they'll never know. Mountain rescue volunteers often out themselves at risk to save people climbing the Glyders in trainers with no compass ,no map ,no provisions. No idea. Chuck in Air Ambulance too.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

May I ask why you wouldn’t trust a legal rep ? Surely it’s the person to the profession that has to be trusted ?

A legal rep like not loyal ? 😂 Not sure how long he did it for, it was years, but I know he enjoyed it and did his best, and he is very pro police, the law etc, just wanted to earn a decent wedge and help people. Having had a look back in time on here it’s clear you are from the practising side of court process and procedure. I’m pretty certain most people in your line of work are exceptionally trustworthy, if not a tad tricky at times 😉 I would imagine OHL is referencing legal reps at police stations, many of whom seem to have not a lot of credibility in certain areas of the judicial system. Just an observation. Those green forms !

I was a Solicitor before I joined the Bar and did 1000s of police stations over the years. You have to act in your client’s best interests , irrespective of your personal opinion of them , be that advising no comment or stopping interviews if they get oppressive. Are the re dodgy reps out there ? No doubt, same of dodgy barristers and police, but the overwhelming majority are very decent simply doing their job, The dodgy legal reps quickly get found out and get a name, which will be known by the police, courts CPS etc. Can understand the public perception of my profession but I’d imagine the majority of those with a bad impression have never actually met one of us when needed, [Post edited 16 Apr 2021 6:23]

Yes he is and a recollection of Legal Aid (fraud) days makes one wince . Mainly detainees would only ever speak at an interview would be first timers. The pros knew what to do without legal representation which is basically not to say anything that could harm their chances of coming up with a defence in Crown and giving it a spin to a confused ,overwhelmed and puzzled by it all jury. Why admit anything at all when there is a chicane of legal minutae to wade through. Any Crown Court is a show and intimidates those not fully aware of the sheer theatre of it all . Police ,witnesses and indeed defendants are bit parts in the main show which is a joust between Learned "friends". Some people detest Police I detest Lawyers. No further comment

Never met an untrustworthy barrister, I’m sure here are some, but a huge difference between barristers and some of those quite strange folk who turn up at police stations at 3 am with a fistful of green papers already filled in 😂

That’s not true in crime, many solicitors have ‘higher rights’ qualifications enabling them to appear in the Crown Court, so they do everything

What about in magistrates court where there are hardly ever no barristers ? Edited for fair play.
