Steve Cooper with a declining income year on year has improved the team statistically this season with inferior loan players.
Played 100 games Won 45 Draw 27 lost 28.
Average points per game 1.63. That gives an average championship points of 81.
Whatever his faults the team over the stretch is consistent at point harvesting. He would it seems is a strong bet for play offs season on season.
Today he highlighted the brutal program, and perhaps accepting fan criticism pointed out how difficult it is in the championship to play and open brand of possession based football but that is what he wants to achieve,
Given that Farke and Frank have achieved this 'holy grail' there seems to be an aguement for strengthening his back up team with traditional Swansea schooled coaches. Perhaps Graham Jones type figure alongside a Swansea icon to mentor for one season.

Aye, who wants to be entertained !!!!
Swansea survived for seven seasons in the Premier league because they could get away ppoints and win home games. This was by have high possession stats and keeping the powerful teams with highly rated forwards away from Swansea goal.
Potter is struggling at the present with a low cost team using the same methods. Frank is a much better manager than the Woodgate. Bournemouth were in form with a very powerful forward line but Brentford dealt with them comfortably with 10 men. This was with Swansea style possession football.
Cooper wants to play like this but says it is too hard. It is not too hard for Frank. Cooper must therefore accept his limitations and bring in a passing guru ito his coaching team like Grame Jones or Paul Tisdale perhaps. Its the only way swansea can compete at the top table.

I don't disagree with any of that really, but Brentfords defence isn't the most watertight so they are quite open. So without the astonishing scoring record of Ivan Toney whom they acquired for £5million, they would be much further down the table.
And then their season wouldn't look so great despite usually playing football that's nice on the eye.
So i would argue it is difficult to do while not being able to invest to that level.

Brendan did it with aChampionship players an up and coming prospect in Joe Allen and only signing Danny Graham £2-3m, Vorm, Steven Caulker on loan Sigurdson on loan after January. When the style ir right the like of Rangel, Taylor, Gower, Dyer and Routlege flourished.

He did.
Brendan Rodgers is a fantastic manager and if he is the yardstick, people are going to come up short time and time again.
He also had the benefit of a Martinez shaped squad with a season of Sousa tightening us up defensively.
I’ve no doubt it could be done again, but that quality of football and that level of success on that kind of budget is very rare.

Yes Brendan Rodgers is a superb manager whom i don't think anyone is saying that Cooper is of that level. Nor any other managers currently in the championship.

It isn't an easy knack to master.
Cooper clarly wants to be like Brendan. To achieve that he needs coachng help. This might be available from Brendan / Martinez loyalists with a clear possession based vision. I remember Brendan getting some tough lessons as the Swans were hustled out of games with Ashley scoring a memorable own goal v Derby.
It's seemed like watching another team altogether based on the stats but, we have overachieved this season, we don't have a proper striker, and losing Joe Rodon was a massive hit, i know people expect more and that's fair enough i guess, but when you look at the bare bones facts, we've done a very good job

Broadly agree - particularly on the very good achievement bit despite how painful it has been to watch for the bulk of the time - not so sure on the Rodon bit due to progress of both Guehi & Cabango and purchases of Bennett & Latibeaudiere.
Big mistake was not replacing Brewster, that said difficult to knock the results & points gained and Cooper’s first 100 game stats just incredibly frustrating on what might be our best chance to get back up.

Potter has to be up there with the most overrated Swans manager ever.
I really don't get the love in for him.
Thank God. Cooper is so limited ,it hurts. He has mis managed players that aw us lost all those games against crap teams.
He has cost us big time and some need get their head out of his arse .
We have seen young Cabango messed around something wicked and the decision to always start Woody after horrendous displays of cowardice is the worst of all.
Whilst the stats look tidy ,some of the games we've had to endure these last couple of months have been truly awful, looked more like a relegation team

18th on current form.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
