What does it tke for a Swansea manager to stay at the club for say 5 years?, Almost all Swansea managers are desperate to leave after 2 seasons Martinez, Brendan, Potter ,Sousa after one. Clement, Monk, Laudrup sacked and Carlos was allowed to walk. Cooper also apparently made an early bolt from the traps but got tangled up and ended a non starter.
It seems to me Cooper is taylor made for a longish stay providing he can develop a more inspiring gme plan and help enthuse the fans. Swansea theoreticlly will not be invloved in a relegtion scrap unless something goes badly wrong. Clearly in picking a midfield of Fulton Smith and Grimes he is leaving the creativity to his front two and his workaholic wing backs. Hourahaine gave Cooper little escape from accusations of turgid playing style. A longish stay will help in the development of players selected by Cooper to the first team. Players like Canbango Cooper B and O Garrick, Benda, Williams, Latibeaudiere Whittaker and the young new signings.
So it is about Cooper developing his own style for attacking potency. I would import a Routledge or a Britton into the fold to help him towards success. Remember the keys out of the club depend upon him being successfull. If he gets success at Swansea he and Marshy become multi millionaires overnight. "Accusation by fans of a turgid playing style" are not a words he wants to see on his wikipedia page

If they are good they get poached

Bar Laudrup or Gudolin who were sacked because their face didn't fit but you get my drift.
Where it gets messy is when we get a Cooper or maybe Souza a few years back.
Results are not bad but neither have really endeared themselves to the fans or board.
The club then hangs on hoping they will get poached and it backfires in the Cooper instance and we are left in a right mess with a manager who is clearly not wanted.
And it's plain as day he doesn't want to be with us either.
I really don't see how he can last more than 3 months a couple of defeats and the fans will be on his back.
By the looks of it the squad will be weaker than last season as well so no winners in this one sadly.

b) Im happy enough but probably could do better. I will keep my eye on the back of the "New Civil Engineer".
c) This is Sh*t I need to get away before they get me. I do not want another redundancy on my CV. You know "What did you do bettween march 2001 and July 2001? ".

Yes partly B problem he has though is he has shown all his cards.
When fans were watching the live streams and we were challenging most would reluctantly accept it myself included.
But it's s different thing completely if we are putting in performances like last season with fans in the ground.

I think this season will be pivotal one way or another. If he starts well, he’ll be offered an extension, if he gets another playoff finish, I’d expect lower end PL clubs to be in for him.
If he starts badly and the crowd get on his back, he’s in his final year and it’s his first league manager job. He probably won’t cost too much to ship out. | | | |
