That’s a great negative slant - well done. (And factually incorrect - I don’t think he assisted Stoke at all - they didn’t need it).
He was left with little option on Friday night - he spotted Grimes and tried to reach him but he just didn’t get enough on it. Anyway it was a clean sheet for him (2 in 4 league games now even with our new risky style) so no assist.
Yes he’s made mistakes but I think it’s unanimous on here that he’s far superior to Woodman. If we’d have had him playing last year we might have gone up. [Post edited 22 Aug 2021 7:52]

Could you clarify ( I haven't checked myself) did his two indiscretions lead directly to the opposition scoring ( no other players involved between his kick and the shot ). At Bristol he made that one mistake then went to the touch line and as Boundy said hardly put a foot wrong. I suppose what we’re both saying to you is we don’t understand what your point is. He went short (under pressure) , got it wrong and then did what a thinking professional footballer would - changed his strategy to foil the opposition. | |

Certainly not unanimous that he is better than woodman. Too early to judge after only four league games but he certainly needs to put the ball safely into stands rather than panic every game and give it to the opposition. | |

Did either of you watch the Bristol game? As I said, he messed up once, adapted and overcame with some tremendous pin point balls to the flanks.

I don't think I questioned your right to express your opinion so apologies if you think I did. IMO Benda at times seems to take an age to decide what to do with it ball to feet v Bristol not so , he was more direct , "take a touch" sometimes isn't the best option especially when the opposition are bearing down upon you and your' 6 yards from your goal line. Benda along with others will come good and again imo he's a more rounded keeper than Woodman . | |

Looks like the Cooperites have found this season's target.
Woodman was decent, but 5 games in playing to order and trying to involve a patched up back line and midfielders who move like zombies Benda is already way ahead.
Woodman made errors despite being cautious.
Woodman was a good shot stopper and, as long as he didn't come off his line more than a metre or two, well positioned. (TBF that wasn’t how hw played when he first arrived.)
Benda commands his area, is cool, catches the ball, punches effectively, acts as sweeper, communicates well. Benda has and will make errors by being dynamic. |  |

Woody was cowardlyavoiding any physical contact,staying on his line rigid as the ball was often stroked past him.
Benda comes for the ball and cleared a very tricky ball at Brizzle .Woody would have not left his 6 yard box,lt alone his penalty area. Fact.
Benda has been outstanding and really IS one to support as many on thee sites say. He was sh'@t on last season and has grabbed his chance.

By the time Woodman left us he had played 95 senior games, almost all behind well established defences Benda has played 6 in front of a different defensive line up each game! | |

As I have mentioned once or twice before in regards to Swansea goalkeepers who appear to be hopelessly inept at kicking a football.
If only there was a professional football club in the area with loads of certificate holding coaches who could spend hours and hours teaching aforementioned goalkeepers how to kick a ball.
It's a crying shame that we have nowhere in the Swansea area that athletic young goalkeepers can be paid loads of money each week to spend hours practicising their kicking in order to transform their footballing skills from abject to barely acceptable.
