| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

It’s very well timed, the arrival of Johnson junior failed to take the focus away from the sleaze and Boris Johnson is under huge pressure. The only way he can stave off a significant back bench rebellion and take the focus off his gaffs is Covid. What he’s asking for is huge, curtailing the vaccination programme by a month and in December when people are on leave, 3 bank holidays etc is massive. Offering a jab is not the same as giving the vaccine, you can be offered the appointment in December but have it in January. Remember the shenanigans with the tests last year, they promised x number per day and included tests in the post which hand’t been delivered. [Post edited 12 Dec 2021 21:35]

I suspect it will be similar to the testing shenanigans. Everyone will have the "opportunity" to book a vaccine, but it'll be a bun fight to see who actually gets vaccinated as the infrastructure will be overwhelmed. I'll be amazed if the target is legitimately met.

Great news that the vaccine programme is being accelerated which can only save more lives. Real leadership I just dread to think where we would be with Starmer. Hopefully Drakeford and Nicola will follow.

If you don't have a stretching target you will never achieve anything. Why wait until the end of January to offer everyone a booster if we can bring it forward. Remember last January nobody believed we would meet the target of getting adults vaccinated by the end of July. In the end it was done early.

Perhaps you should be proactive and chase it up yourself instead of just waiting. There are walk in centres you can just turn up and get it.

I hope he does reach the target, but to do so he has to vaccinate a million people a day starting tomorrow. The most we've vaccinated so far in a day is just over half that.

Probably a fault of the Welsh NHS. No walk in centres and no online booking system. We have both in England. [Post edited 13 Dec 2021 13:47]

| Boris ? Will he go this week on 11:18 - Dec 13 with 1174 views | LittleEnglandJack | If Labour had the balls to vote against the plan B measures this week he'd be toast. Combined with the dozens of Tory rebels voting against they'd have enough for the government to lose the vote, which would go some way to destroying what's left of Boris' credibility. Unfortunately though Labour are an absolutely appalling opposition, even more blinded by Covid than the Tories. Boris knows that in a pinch he can always count on Labour to support tougher restrictions, even if the motivation for them was transparently just to save his own skin. | | | |

If they voted against Plan B, which is clearly essential, they would have blood on their hands. Labour voters are more likely to be impacted by the health implications of covid so they'd be harming their own support. The Tory rebels are the only people in the house of commons who don't think Plan B is needed. Instead I expect Keir Starmer to call for more stringent restrictions, which Drakeford will implement of Friday.
