Not sure Cooper is Vetch's hero but it is not unreasonable to go back and compare and given the relative success of getting into the play offs.
Seeing the fear of losing crippling the team during the descent from Premiership was not pleasant but Potter changed that, which Cooper carring on a winning mentality.
Did they get things wrong yes, Potter's team couldn't defend corners, Coopers in the end sacrificed forward play to try and shore up the defence, the goals for reduced as did the goals against.
Bad results the second half of last year, we lost to Birmingham and Bristol 19th and 20th in the league, as expectations grow so do the disappointments.
Wales under Mark Hughes were a point away from qualifying for the World Cup but fear of losing, trying to be to defensive cost him, didn't play to strengths, we had Giggs, Bellamy, Hartson, Simon Davies, defence not so strong.
This season our defence has been questionable and we have had some painful lessons but we do need strengthening in this area, as we have need for quite some while. Stability and experience goes a long way to help but can't solve all the problems a bit of pace and in the defensive third might help. [Post edited 23 Apr 2022 8:37]

I would have though Reading would have made matters crystal clear but incredibly,there have not and that which we read burns the eyes.
The coach has his supporters and some are not convinced. Any dialogue leads to unpleasantness on here which I don't mind BUT clearly it's an issue for Keith and Not Loyal so,as they say,I'm out! | |
