The club seems to be going through an unprecedented phase of harmony.
I would expect KoL to be in the camp. His remit is to get the u23 playing in the same style and philosophy as the First XI. This means he has to understand the thinking and processes involved. Martin and Allen appear to be working hand in glove. This has to be good.
It did not happen with Laudrup for example with Laudrup separating his business from the clubs professing no involvement in the appointments of Bony, Shelvey, Amat and Clotet for example. Guidolin also stated he had an advisory role in signings having never heard of Fer.
Monk and Clement suffered from poor recruitment which cost them their jobs. Neither had a strong contact book which is surprising in Clements case. Clemet culd for example have blocked Bony and Clucas. He brought in Abraham and Sanches. He could have blocked Mesa Clucas and Bony had he promoted alternatives from his time in Germany and Spain. A phone call or two to Angellotti or even Brendan perhaps.
KoL has doe pretty well with the u23 getting improved results after a poor season last year and slow start this year. Darren Davies has done even better with the u18 having a string of good results recently again after a poor start. Some of the players brought in from other academies are hitting their stride it seems. Byron Anthony left very early in his post. Perhaps he was not compatible with the club ethos and playing style?
The u23s have 4 wins all season. Just the one in 2022. It has not been a good campaign, the only really bright spot is the u18s who've been able to gain match experience up a level (with Congreve skipping ahead to first team recently). A lot of goals given up when defenders have been caught on the ball, and a goalkeeper who struggles to make basic saves.
The u18s under the new manager usually play a 4-3-3 instead of Martin's formation. Results have generally improved (6 wins in last 10 matches) with u16s player Iwan Morgan scoring lots of goals.

From what I have seem they had a lot of draws that should have been wins conceding late and generally played much better than the previous season.
Numerous soft goals from trying to play Martinball. It is the way forward. If the defenders cannot do it then they are on their way. Make their mistakes in underage football not in the first team. I hope the player Eriksen is not too badly injured.

If we want our academy to be productive and profitable we can't really be too picky about the style of players we are producing. We're not a big, fashionable academy throwing millions at kids from all over to join up and scrap it out amongst themselves. Casting aside good defenders who struggle to play to Martin's particular approach, or ignoring talented wingers who don't put the defensive shift in, means developing fewer players and disrupting some potentially good careers of the young men under the club's care. There aren't clubs lining up to give players we turn our noses up at their second chance.
Martin won't be here forever. Limiting the entire club to working to his specific model is short-sighted even if he does prove successful. Systems at development level should be defined by what we have instead of blindly mirroring the first team. Cabango spent a handful of seasons learning basic "play from the back" in our academy, before a spell kicking it up in the air with TNS and two seasons of Cooperball before learning to step into midfield at Championship level. If he'd been asked to do it at 18, sink or swim, maybe he wouldn't have come through.

Tammy Abraham was not Clement's choice. He was recommended to Pinocchio by Brian Flynn.
Paul Clement wanted his first signing to be Nathaniel Chalobah from Chelsea, but Pinocchio messed that one up, big time!!
Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Martin might not stay long term but it is possible. He is a different sort of person and is at the start of what is his in the main "project".
The club had a philosophy in the 'Jenkinista era' and lost it. Jenkins was the driving force, His last two big decisions were appointing Potter (future England manager) and heroically falling on his sword to stop Dan James being sold on the cheap. He had made mistakes but was well on the way to righting the ship.
You watch a lot of youth football and I see u17 u18 u19 teams against Wales play out from the back beautifully. Austria u19 / Croatia u19 / Belgium u19 play it beautifully. The Welsh chasers could not lay a glove on them. It is not rocket science. Wales relies on exceptionally talented individuals like Neco Williams and Ampadu.
With Jenkins no longer around Mark Allen is 'defender of the faith'. He is the man to keep the philosophy sound. He has a good contact book hopefully. There is harmony in the club and consistency and it is his job to keep it that way, In my opinion all Swansea players shuld be able t pass control the ball and be comfortable in possession. It needs to be ingrained through all the age groups. It is not unreasonable to expect Allen to stay for a decade as a local man who has already been at big clubs.
KOL has outlined clearly the adoption of a policy that might not produce great results. There were perhaps 10 occasions where Swansea let leads slip late on. They also rarely used first team squad players like Dhanda. Other teams like Cardiff give 3 or 4 first teamers run outs in their u23 team.

"harmony" Ok
Please look up the concept of 'harmony'. It involves calmness and understanding of a process and not panicking when things do not go according to plan. Team work and things being in alignment with the forces of nature to get better results.

You use of derogatory childish name calling (for what I regard a club hero) tells me you are an unreliable poster. Clement would known Abraham much better than Flynn from his time at the Chelsea academy. Clement must have known the player and approved the signing.
Jenkins had 15 seasons at Swansea 14 of them successful. 3 promotions 1 major cup, European qualification. The complete updating of the club infrastructure and academy which launched the career of 7 or 8 full Welsh internationals which qualified to for two Euros and hopefully a World cup.
He turned the Trust asset valuation from £200k to 100 times that a 10,000% rise. They were not minded to sell and did not. The case that they were in some way prevented from selling collapsed with minor compensation as a classy goodwill gesture.

Ooohhh another propaganda post on a thread previously unrelated to trust matters.
And yet you still lie. If the trust were 'not minded to sell' why did the trust formally inform every sellout on the day they found out about the sale that they were open to selling and wanted to negotiate? You mean a new board accepted a settlement from the sellouts who thus admitted their misconduct, all done purely because the sellouts had more resources to fight the case and presumably stall and appeal their way out of trouble. You and they should be embarrassed, but you it's obvious you or them have no shame

I know they were not minded to sell at the time of the sale because they said so in one of their statements. They were prepared to listen to offers for sure although as proven in 2017 it was predictably a waste of time according to the buyer in the face of opposition.
Like I keep telling people selling is not easy. You need to persuade buyer to buy not say things that put them off. The payment to the Trust I see as a 'good will' payment not an acceptance of any guilt. After all the Trust are supposed to represent the fans who buy season tickets and merchandise.
Do you understand the status of the 5% Chief? Can they sell it under certain circumstances and does it entitle them to dividends on the 5%?
Why should I be embarrassed I argued against the case for 6 years?. The anger of members should be for those that promoted it. They should have been aware of the hurdles but were not it seems. There was no "free hit" which you personally promoted.
I defend the ex Chairman. He made some recruitment mistakes at the end but overall was a great success and was turning the club around with Potter at the wheel.

Why o why are you still banging this drum
Also your defence of the ex chairman is misguided...he took a lot of money in salary from the club.... Apart from the underhand way in which he led the sale.
He rode his luck...any good manager/director makes things happen when things go wrong....HJ was lucky he rode the wave but when things were going wrong he couldnt turn it round.
Like I have said before he went back on his words re Curtis ....When Martinez left HJ stated that Curt and Pascoe would always be part of any incoming managers staff and this was so with Sousa and Rodgers then Pascoe left with Rodgers but Curt remained with Laudrup then this "great" chairman gave Monk the Managers job and let him sideline Curtis.....showed his true colours there!

- they said they didn't want to sell a few years earlier to different buyers under different circumstances. They never said wouldn't sell to these shareholders.
- and I keep telling what you say about selling is completely irrelevant. It should have been really easy, but unfortunately the buyers and selling didn't act appropriately. We know this because of their admission of guilt. You are still ignorant to the fact or doing the acting two act again. Unfortunately as we know the current board of the trust decided against representing the wishes of the fans.
- I don't really care but yes they can sell under certain circumstances and will garner dividends. Huge caveat here of course is that there's no guarantee from what anyone can see that this applies if the Americans sell the holding company and not just the club itself. So it could all be completely irrelevant.
- you should be embarrassed for supporting the sellouts who patently acted in a non compliant let alone immoral manner. I suppose you believe Prince Andrew to be innocent too.
- you can defend his record for most of his reign pre-sale all you want. But when you try and pretend he acted appropriately while excluding people he'd worked day to day with years to enrich himself and doctoring minutes, I'll pull you up on it. I know you're so enamoured by him but I am capable of separating the two. A great chairman for years.

I can understand your bitterness. The bitterness of a loser. The Trust chose to go to court rather than cut a deal in 2016. It was a failed strategy. I told you his repeatedly but you assured me they would be going to court very soon. You were misinformed.
What is Prince Andrew to do with anything? Desperate stuff. I have realised recently that you do not actually represent grass roots opinion. You do not like the ex Chairman. Who cares really.

- Bitterness of of someone who doesn't think proper justice has been carried out and the wrongdoers got off extremely lightly.
- Yes as they were entitled to having not been offered a comparable bid to the sellouts. It could have been a perfectly sound strategy had the new trust board not going against the members. We were lied to - not misinformed.
- Well he settled out of court too. Was his payment to the victim a 'classy gesture' too? What made you realise that? You're deeply ingrained delusion? I am amongst many many people who dislikes the chairman. And as evidenced by you constantly and in vain jumping to the defend the indefensible every time he's slurred on here (which is often and usually justifiably), you immediately leap into action, so I'd say you care actually.

You have to look at the pros and cons of the Jenkinista era.
Plus side Stopped the club being a laughing stock handed from one dubious owner to the next. Shut down the health and safety issue that was the Vetch field saving fans from harm. Put the club on an historical trajectory to the Premier league Seven season in the Premier league Three promotions A long list of spectacularly successful managerial appointments (at low cost) Invested profits in infrastructure not dividends The clubs first major trophy in English system plus one minor trophy. Last 32 in Europa league Shared ownership with the fans with shared dividends Payment of a good will cheque to the SCST to ensure peace and harmony. Selling the club to owners who bring no debt. (Non leveraged -see MUFC / Burnley) . Rock solid discipline in handling unfair personal abuse on line Effectively resigning giving up a good wage over Dan James. (magnificent IMO)
Negatives Poor recruitment performance post 2015. One relegation Losing the PR battle with the poorly run SCST.

Informed the supporters trust as soon as there was interest and adhere to the legally binding shareholders agreement that was in place. If they were all so confident that the trust didn't want to sell their shares as Resloven keeps trumpeting (without evidence) what's the harm in at least keeping them informed? If these Americans were prepared and determined to kick on without talking to the trust until the deal done anyway, I can't see them being scared off like the previous Americans were.
It's not difficult to remain within compliance. And the trust should have been informed just like every other shareholder

People do forget the trust competently binning another bidder a bit before the current owners were accepted.
Obviously for me, they kept it quiet as this lot would have been rejected as well, or may have been. Hence the secrecy.
