Released from Liverpool, looked to have bags on talent when he burst onto the scene but has been out on loan a lot since then. Could we offer him a permanent home and a chance to rebuild his career?

Could be Wrexham's marquee signing.

Wouldn't be against signing him, showed some promise but really gone off the boil of late.

Isn't he exactly the type of player we have made successes of ? Falling out of favour elsewhere, got talent but needs to feel wanted ?

Yes.

Clubs that make a habit of picking up overhyped players who've failed to kick on rarely find much success. Should look to those we have coming through our own academy before trying players who have failed elsewhere.

Can blame injuries maybe, but he never looked the same player after bulking up. Klopp talked him up but he does that with every academy player they have. It's just good business. Dhanda was "the next one off the line" once upon a time, remember.

I dont mind taking a chance now and again.
But having read up a bit more it would seem he is behind McKay at Hearts, who we deemed not good enough here.

Don't believe the hype. He will find a home at League two.

Even when you know, you never know?

I don’t think Russell Martin is that type though. He’s too concerned with his own ego and image.

Brendan was an egomaniac but by god could he inspire what some may call journeymen footballers to play to the very top of their potential.

Each time I go to Bedd - au........................

He’d do better under Cooper than Martin I think.

Scored the winner on his debut for Wales against Austria. Can't really say I've noticed him since.

Get him in. Would be quite a cheap wage and someone we can develop to be an important player for us

Why would he be cheap? He's been earning more than any of our players for years, and Hearts can't afford him on a free, supposedly.

Far more important positions to fill unless players leave. A luxury player and we can't afford luxuries.

He's not really done anything but I think he is young enough to turn his career around. Must have been on about 10k at Liverpool and I'm sure would accept less than that

Because he not playing for liverpool anymore..him and his agent will have to realise expectations and realise they have to take a big step backwards to move on again..the talent is obviously there, just needs good mam management maybe..so if that's what he needs Russell is the last man to do it...

Reports at the time he signed his last contract suggest he was on anything up to £25k/week. Liverpool pay fortunes to lock down their brightest prospects - see Harry Wilson. Of course he'll accept less now but his expectations will still be 10x what our own academy players who play the same position are earning.

Martin has proved his man management skills are excellent with Obafemi and Piroe.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

He has worked wonders with Obafemi, at one point it was looking as though he would be out the door pretty sharpish. But now looks integral to our future plans.
