I remember Crewe Alexandra in the early 70 s in front of just over 1000 spectators at the Vetch.

It's not the worst I have seen by a long way but it's also a long way from a divion 4 game in the 70's to where we are now, which includes the quality of the playing surface. I played on the Vetch (local league cup final) and even in May on a bright sunny day, it was awful, my head is flatter.

It has been the cycle for two and a half seasons. 1-4 up away t Reading and you think the corner has been turned. He did not have the tools to secure the W and let it slip through negligence and the alter of total football. A few tweak and it would have been a 2-4 or 2-5 win not 4-4.
