Swansea City and their complete change of attitude at Blackpool 13th Aug 2022 20:27
Russell Martin’s Swansea City shook off the shackles that were evident last weekend in their mundane attempt to win a football match and delivered a much better performance at Blackpool. That’s the basic view of the vast majority who witnessed the game and indeed the majority view is right. 0

I'm not sure the performance was as good as all that but a win is a win and a step in the right direction. What irritates me now is Martins comments about Ntcham,

"Oddly enough after that chat rumours started to circulate of him possibly not being as happy as he could be at Swansea, hopefully now he has settled down, the swans after all do pay his wages. It has to be said though up until then he was as bad as he was at Oxford, if not worse"

WHY? he praised him then he slagged him off, those things should be said in private. What good does it do to say those things publicly?

Enjoy the win, say positive things and work at making further improvements but why add the bad words?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

No different from first half v Blackburn or Oxford just a more movement in the midfield!

I must have been watching a different game…….
We were decent in first half without really threatening that much that I can remember.
Second half we weren’t great let’s be fair, weather had a lot to do with it probably but we looked out on our feet !
They missed a pen and we scored on the breakaway.
We got away with one is my assessment !

That is exactly my concern, people think that everything is Ok now but this may only be a sticking plaster on a much bigger wound.

I guess we'll see more evidence on Tuesday.

The same mistakes were still being made. The ball was still being given away in dangerous areas.
We started with 8 defensive players, 9 if you include Fisher.
The formation is better but where is the pace out wide?
If we are going to play full back and wing backs, then why not Ogbeta and Wood. At least they have pace

On another day we could have easily lost that, they missed a sitter before we scored, fine margins. But I thought we looked better unit with back four, still gifting teams chances, just look at Utd game. I will say it again, playing out from the back is the most overrated tactic in football.

If we are going to threaten for promotion places we are currently 3/4 players short. We need pace down both flanks and attack midfielder more consistent than Paterson and Ntcham.

Even when you know, you never know?

Martin has got to somehow get this guy performing. He can be brilliant as he was at Celtic. They rejected a £14m offer and he is only 26. He can be a big player for Swansea and is paid big bucks. Martin has to try to get him firing even if that includes making him angry.

Ntcham is notionally getting French offers for a free transfer to "get rid of his wages". This means if he continues to be less than average he has a good chance of leaving and returning to ligue 1.

NO SIR. Under contract you leave this club for a FEE after playing well, really well. No free transfer for big players to go from the Championship second leagues to first league in France.

He needs to have a brilliant season and his future destination will look after itself. He will have a choice as Swansea are a trading club if it is in their interest.

Everyone knows Ntcham is operation at less than 50% of his potential.

Wise sage since Toshack era

But then why hasn't Martin who last season supposedly coached Downes, Obafemi and Piroe into the players they became?

Surely this super coaching ability should now be bringing out all this latent talent and ability?

I agree in fact I'd go as far to say I thought we were crap & once again boring to watch.

I'm expecting nothing from Millwall or Luton which disappoints me that I'm thinking that way with the players we have.

I said before the weekend my pro Martin views had changed & he needs to do something to make us better to watch before I change back (nothing changed Saturday for sure).

First win at Blackpool in 43 years.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

That win should give us all a lift and should show Russ as to how being direct is beneficial.
Fisher was r cell ent in the closing stages

He took command and that is the way forward
