🙈

It needs putting out there for sure.

PS it's all good, very good.

Now I love Curt, he's a great bloke but one thing I know for sure having watched him on tv and spoken to him several times, he never says anything controversial. if there were any behind the scenes problems, any gossip, he would never repeat t in public.

That's because he loves the club and would never say anything that could in any way harm it.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

He said a few things about certain individuals and situations.....he could have certainly gone deeper with things I am sure but he left enough out there and didn't need to go further.

Not a problem.

He said that Martin was the best manager since Rodgers, covers so much and is a fantastic man manager and like Rodgers makes so much time for the players and their families.

Rodgers best manager hands down in the last 20 years.

Couple have managers have been quite all about themselves.... Clement highlighted as the main one.

Said that Martin has had a few issues with younger players, sated that the younger players have done a few silly things but Martin has dealt with it in a 1st class manner........He was spot on with how he handled Obefami.

Young squad and young minds and some of the players needed to grow up and they have and Martin needs a lot of praise for how that has worked out.

Said the story about Tommy on Ardiles, Villa was the only Spurs player to confront him after the challenge..... Villa ran up to him and said "you are loco" Smith replied "you are next".
Villa was quiet for the rest of the game.

That's just a few things, he talked about a lot more but think that's best off this forum 🙈

Was there that day, with my now Wife along with 3 of her brothers from what I remember, spent that season under the new East Stand, my first season of watching from another stand instead of the North Bank, Tommy was indeed Loco he was better player than that though of course, but he'd never get away with it today, same can be said for many others as well, game as moved on and players rules Ref's have moved with it.

Enjoyed the Tosh journey though, not so much its collapse, but the ride up to finishing 6th in League One was a hell of an achievement.
Loved it all.

Obviously highlighted a lot about that generation but enjoyed hearing that story about Tommy Smith.

Some great stories about his time playing under Mike England for Wales.....England sounded like a right character.

Read his autobiography a month or so back...sounds like he is telling the same tales tod there

Its a good read it will give some an insight into the man confirm what we already knew about him it also highlights how "easy" todays proffesionals have it.

Tsalks highly of Hollins in that book too

Rememebr that night well and I think maybe your memeory is playing tricks Max as the new East stand had yet to be built then I think it was finished and opened circa 1980?

Can you imagine Alan talking bad about anyone ?
If the world was full of Alan’s Ukraine would be a holiday destination this year.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

When my last book came out mate he stood with me side by side for five hours in Tesco’s signing books and just being a a totally open and lovely bloke. In football I’ve never met a nicer more open man. And when I say man I mean it.

Unrivalled. And I’ve met a few footballers.

When AC speaks people should listen, he has more experience, honesty and sense than the majority on here. He does not make things up to get a reaction.

My memory is poor Vetchy so your probably right, but I thought the Smith, Ardiles tackle was in that first season in the then top division League One.

Yep apologies Vetchy just looked it up, could have sworn it had been a League game, he took over the lease at the Caven Club in 1980 after retiring from the game, I didn't meet the Mrs until November 1979 so I'm totally wrong

I was at WHL for the replay, as you can imagine Tommy Smith had quite a reception from the home fans, it didn’t seem to bother him much.

Tommy was a real character and he spent many years suffering from the remnants of his football days .
Felt hard done by by not being an England regular.
He could play too

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not
