I know it’s a valid tactic and teams have used it for years but Reading took it to an entirely new level tonight. Thousands of people are paying a lot of money to sit there watching a goalkeeper take three minutes to take a goal kick. Players going down randomly off the ball like there’s a sniper in the crowd picking them off. One of their blokes went down right in front of us with no contact to waste a few minutes then got up smirking at the crowd. Well he wasn’t smirking when our third went in.
What a sorry excuse for a team that I suspect could be fairly decent if they weren’t so defensive, negative and trying to cheat themselves to a win.

If anybody stays down for any length of time ref should signal to bring to physio on straight away and if the player suddenly get better should be told to leave the pitch as the ref has signalled the physio on.
Reading player went down when we were awarded a corner, stayed down a while physio came on, then the player realised he would have to go off for the corner and then protested to try and stay on the pitch🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸ |  | | |

From my view you could see the ball had gone into the stairway opening to the concourse below.
I was surprised how quickly the ball got to the pitch, eventually, via Stewards, advertising hoardings and a very cooperative boy. The goalie didn't get a second ball on in time. | | | |

Let’s not forget their subs took half an hour to leave the field. Until we scored the third then they were running off. Our subs then took half an hour to leave the field which was sweet revenge. |  |

Well no because we weren’t winning at that stage. Reading only really started when they went two up if I recall.

Yes everyone does it to an extent towards the end of a game to preserve a lead but Reading took it to a whole new level last night. Fifth minute and nil nil. The number of players suddenly going down with crippling life changing injuries off the ball only to make a miraculous recovery springing back into action minutes later was farcical. It all stopped miraculously at 3-2 as well. Perhaps the sniper in the crowd went home early to beat the traffic? | |
