Morgan Whittaker update 13:50 - Oct 9 with 1824 viewsKeithHaynes

Three goals and two assists in Sept.

Morgan Whittaker was named player of the month for September as the Pilgrims took 10 points from four league games.

Argyle are a point clear at the top of League One having faced all of the other sides in the top eight.

"I think both the awards are great and it's good to get praise and recognition from the outside," Schumacher said.

"But we understand that it's a job that takes loads of different departments to be doing well so the recruitment team, the analysts, the stats team, the medical and performance team, the coaching staff and most importantly the players have got to perform to get those awards.

He can be recalled but as it stands he won’t be, unless injuries set in.
I can see us getting in another striker in January.

If we can recall him it would seem to be the sensible thing to do, how long does someone need to be kept out in the cold. Maybe offer one of the brightc youngsters from the under 21s.
If we are not bringing him back rather buy a new forward, than a loanee, if we can afford it, want build towards a future in the Premiership rather than a players furture for another Premiership team.

Bring him back anyway then give him some game time to get him up to speed at the higher level in case we lose someone in the next summer xfer window.

Of course but the rumour mill has already started on certain targets, if the swans are in the top six then Obafemi and Piroe ( who really needs to learn how to head a ball ) would be daft to leave at that point with premier league football and money on the table, even at Swansea.

Who would you take out of the match day squad to incorporate Whittaker?

As things stand Finn Stevens will probably end up going back to Brentford. Not much point him being here.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Agreed.

Piroe needs to find the back of the net and rediscover his goalscoring form, or he will be thought as a one season wonder and no bids will be coming anyway.

Obafemi needs to hit a purple streak or when clubs do their due diligence on him he will be thought of as to high risk.

Both are capable if hitting form, if they do imagine where we could be.

Aways liked him when he played here, he always had an attacking attitude, always trying to go forward, even when most of the team were looking for perfect passes or giving it back to our keeper, good luck to him, hope it does him the world of good and we can reap the rewards when he comes back

The player is featuring every week and scoring goals. He is there to help his development. This is happening. Development is the key. It did wonders for Ollie Cooper who got 45 games for Newport. Bringing him back would be a mistake.

Completely agree.

We’ve got Obafemi on the bench at the moment. We’d be taking Whittaker away from playing every game as a key player to being an unused sub or not making the squad.

If one of our strikers go in January or get a long term injury, it’s a conversation to be had. If not, let him keep developing.

I did put a later comment on because I realised his contract runs until Jun 2025, any decision would depend on Jan xfer window.

I wouldn’t - he needs plenty of game time, he’s 22 in a couple of months not 19, so I’d be leaving him at Plymouth for the season.

Unless of course we sell either Piroe or Obafemi in January and haven’t got a plan B lined up.

Lots of our players go out on loan and come back better players.

Grimes, Fulton, Benda, Cooper to name a few in our Current squad. Plus we get in loan players from PL teams.
The loan systems enables players to get match playing experience rather than play in poor standard reserve teams.

Yep I agree. Keep him at Plymouth and then see what he can do with a full pre season with us

Unless Piroe starts hitting the goal trail he'll be going nowhere.

We had some excellent info on team plays in training last week.
I’m not putting anything on here until it’s too late but common sense tells me Piroe will be having a rest at Burnley.

Goal #6

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
