Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
Its not that regional rugby hasn’t worked, it’s not even regional. Only the Ospreys are a proper region.
WRU are way behind the times. What’s so frustrating is you’ve a model of good practice down the road with the FAW.
Good post. FAW have got their shyte together whilst WRU remain entrenched in their warped egos . We re a small country but only football challenges it,whereas Ireland sees GAA Hurling and Association football far bigger nationally . Same with Scotland where it is very much minority game
Our structure is wrong and needs change
That said,Pivac is sheet ice
To bring back halfpenny after basically not playing so so long was bad enough and no surprise to see him cry off ,then replace with Anscombe at 15 whilst then shoving a 35 yr old at 10 after . They would have trained with GA at 10 . They played him at full back.

OHL its still pretty much true that the fat boys win matches. The backs decide by how many points.
Win our own set pieces and its a start. We appear to have good backs still, but Biggar is a big miss at 10.
Our best 15 is not so bad, with Toby, Tips, and Moriarty maybe as back row options.
But then you look at what Ireland are achieving with players from our league. Amazing.
Get the game back on mainstream TV , then supporters of rugby like me can follow the Welsh team .
Saturdays game was a passing interest in the result , who won , not sure . checked later . Who are some of the current players , AWJ , Biggar and Liam Williams ok .
New upcoming players now playing for Wales are unknown names to me though .
TV rights and contracts generate the big money these days , plus £ 80 a ticket , stupid .

I'm exactly like you now, don't know some of the players now. Aren't we fed up of watching of our annual All Blacks game every year with same result, especially at those ticket prices.

Ok, first off, there is too much money in grass roots rugby, why village clubs think they can pay players is bonkers. I would have the league structure but within each region and then the 4 top league winners playing to decide the national champion at the end of the season. I know of a few clubs who have over-stretched, are now in massive debt, some have had to sell the club houses and a few have just disbanded. And why club teams have to travel 60+ miles for a game isn't local rugby.
I would make the current premiership a semi-pro league, with no relegation, so the teams can concentrate on player development and have a cap on player wages.
Sadly, the regions are here to stay but its the quality of players they are producing thats the problem, on Saturday, it was men against boys.
Ireland are doing it right, so the template is there, go and copy it.
But I think its bigger than that, the junior structure is healthy but once the players turn 18, they are losing interest in all sports.

I know a few youngsters in work who play to a decent standard and they are constantly injured and they are struggling to field full teams.
With the recent reports of brain injuries, who wants to play with this risk. The sport needs to be safer, 15 steriods freaks vs steriods freaks is asking for trouble.

Yes it's all getting a bit predictable - marching bands , singing choirs , regimental goat - check , flashing lights , pyrotechnic touchlines, the closed roof sealing the crescendo . and ........... then it peters out on the pitch like a damp squib , We slope off to the bar at halftime and have the privilege of drowning our sorrows on £6 a can Strongbow then return to our seats to watch more of the same . It's akin to modern day pugilism where the razmatazz of a Michael Buffer doing ring announcements follows the glitterball entrance complete with chosen theme music and tattooed check , security marching their fighter menacingly towards the ring . Fighters who will probably be competing for a little known obscure version of a world title . When what we really want is the substance of an unshaven snarling Jack Dempsey with plain leather boxing boots , bare chested , no robe and alone , striding purposefully towards the ring to brutally extinguish another opponent in the opening rounds.

International Rugby has become boring and predictable
They worry more about the sideshows than the main event. Then they charge stupid prices and stupid people spoil the game by worrying mor about their next beer than maybe spoiling the game for those around them. The WRU loves that off course because its more money in their pockets.
Then the main event starts but the crowd have already crested the hill of entertainment and alcohol and are coasting downhill to the finish with their eyes half shut and their brains numbed by alcohol, the rugby being seen through bleary eyed drunkeness.

Bars should close 30 mins before KO.
What s the situation in Qatar for drinks at games ?
I really enjoyed France v South Africa. Always been a bit of France fan as they can play scintillating Rugby but could also be very unpredictable. However this team know how to win On saying that I thought the Boks played well and could have possibly one it to. Especially being down to 14 me .
