The Cardiff Bay assembly won't be happy with this table, more money for Cardiff perhaps?

Surprised no north Wales towns in there apart from Rhyl.

The chart in the OP highlights communities with the most households in deprivation, but there are 2 other tables in the article that in my opinion are probably more telling, the first relates to free school meals which reflects economic poverty in particular areas and the second is the table of deprivation by County.

Most of those areas have high-level ethnic groups.

Is it a case of these people not wanting to work or people not wanting to employ people from ethnic backgrounds?

Its a fact that 4% of white people were unemployed in 2021, compared with 8% of people from all other ethnic groups combined (if you take Indians out of that group it rises to 11%)

Makes you wonder why hard working well educated Indians can find jobs but others can't.

Not really surprising after 20 years of labour misrule from the Senedd with their anti business, anti infrastructure, anti tourist anti investment policies. Still they keep being elected.

Don't all school kids in Wales now get free meals?

Indians have an education tradition
We don’t
We bring our kids up to believe the world owes them a living and when they don’t get it ,blame the state ,Tories ,the system, anyone accept their laztarse selves

Indians shame us in the workplace and socially too. Few unmarried ,never will get married ,Indians with a crèche full of kids the state has to look after because these kids think having a baby is “ cool”.

You do realise that the highest poverty rate in the UK is in London?
The second highest is the West Midlands, with the North East of England coming a close third.

You do realise the OP is about Wales?

The whole country is unbalanced, the infrastructure and jobs, the investment or lack of, the Senedd's thinking which seems to be spending many millions on things the people don't want or need and other millions on things that are counter productive, like buying up good farm land to plant trees.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Not true the most deprived areas of England are

Wakefield East, Wakefield 76.4.
Hartcliffe and Withywood, Bristol 79.4.
Sheppey East, Swale 81.8.
South Elmsall and South Kirkby, Wakefield 83.6.
Norton South, Halton 91.8.
Kingstanding, Birmingham 93.4.
Blurton West and Newstead, Stoke-on-Trent 98.4.
Breightmet, Bolton 99.

No doubt that parts of London are deprived but stating it’s all deprived is a rather sweeping statement.

We had a wonderful education system, one of the best in the world, where pupils were stretched and people from all backgrounds could get a good education if they worked hard.

Unfortunately labour killed it off and dumbed down the system where no one was allowed to fail exams and vast grade inflation.

It is amazing that pupils from Africa heritage outperform just about everybody while pupils of Caribbean heritage perform the worst. Probably due to ambitious parents who value education.

Good job the conservatives have fixed it in the 12 years they’ve been in power…

The last Labour government did some excellent things in education. They also did some really daft things.

The current Conservative administration have done some really excellent things in education. They’ve also done some really daft things.

That’s the truth of it.

Yes I do.

The poster I was replying to is very quick to state how wonderful England is compared to Wales when in fact the whole of the Uk is in a complete mess.

Poverty is everywhere not just in Wales, I have been attempting to download a survey completed between 2017-2021 by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation which shows the level of poverty by region in the UK. It clearly states that the region with the highest level of poverty is London, followed by 2 other regions which I have mentioned.
England, as a whole, has a 1% lower level of poverty than Wales but there are regions within England that have a higher level.

You really need to ease that burden of England.
What you posted yesterday was outrageous suggesting somebody has to show unfettered loyalty to his place of birth.
I’ve not anything so pitiful for years
We go where we want in life and to be tied to the strings of our birthplace is simply beyond comprehension.

England is a fine place or a Shiite hole, just like Wales. If one is lucky, then the former applies,if not the latter.

You truly have to quit getting so personal when generic issues are raised regarding Wales .

Finally, there is no difference between English and Welsh apart from those whose minds are narrow . It’s why welsh marry English and procreate children who won’t be pure bred .

Yes but the post you replied to didn't mention England, did it? It slated the Senedd which is a point of view I agree with.

I know poverty is everywhere, I've been to London and seen it on the corners of the poshest areas. I've seen it in Swansea. I was in Briton Ferry yesterday for work and saw houses that make mine look like a palace, places where there is obviously very little money and plenty of hardship.
Averages are misleading, percentages can be played. The reality is that successive governments in the UK, Wales and Scotland have badly let a very large amount of people down and continue to do so.
If anyone tries to distract or derail an OP maybe we should point out the fault in the post? Otherwise we become guilty of hijackingthe thread too which may be what the original "hijack" post was about.

Why is it England v Wales all the time .
It really shows us to be lacking in all but spite .
Social media awash with we hate England and wanly them to lose . That makes us happy . It makes up for our lack of self confidence and shows our petty minded nature .

English fans see us as a joke,a novelty ,a one off folly . We are not taken seriously and that hurts more than anything because it defines us absolutely

Yes, the difference between us is, I’m proud to be Welsh, you aren’t.

I’ve known lots of Welsh people who have moved out of the country and done very well for themselves and not one of them speaks of their country of birth like you do, I’ll say it again you’re a disgrace.

When did this country have a wonderfull education system?

We didn't have a universal secondary education system until 1944 , and the it was the tri system , and those who went to secondary modern schools were basically factory fodder
