I grew up with a poodle who used to frighten the life out of the Streets Alsatian
But we've had 4 Dobermans in our 42 yrs of married life, brilliant dogs we sadly lost our Max around 2013 age 11 and 3 months, doubtful that we'd ever have another dog, but going through the Facebook reels the dominant dog on there seems to be the Rottweiler which seem like lovely loveable dogs.

What's the the feeling/favourite type of dogs you got or like etc?

We wanted a Malinois , like my daughters
But, they are a real challenge and though incredible and protective family dig, not a dog you can make friends with as they are highly suspicious
We have time and could give one the two hours per day they need us mental stimulation but , if you’re on a pub or cafe or on holiday mode it’s tricky as they ward off people just by looking at them
We bought a full bottle n Working Black Lab from Graeme Hall
Country and she’s the sweetest animal I’ve known though greedy and obsessed with balls and water
Swimming with her on Bala lake is surreal
Cold too
I hope I die before her

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Lovely dogs the Labrador they stay mischievous for a long time like Dobes both brilliant dog's, but I think Id like to own a Rottie, but we'd probably end up with another Dobe when push come to shove, don't think we'll have another dog though with the youngest and his disability, when he goes into respite we like to get away for a few days usually Hereford of course we love the place, so it would be difficult with a dog at home, eldest works from home apart from 3 days a week and has often got to venture up country with Work, so its a no goer, in all reality sadly.

We have a pair of golden reterievers whos coming up to 4 & 6 respectivily years of age and still is a daft and mad as they were as puppies ,this breed imo is one of the best in terms of natural friendliness ,intelligence and downright naughtiness, most dogs are food orientated but these pair take it to another level.
I always find it funny that I could be walking on the beach with them and they'll , in the main ignore other breeds but when they see another retriever its as if its a long lost brother or sister , I We love all dogs no matter but this breed imo is something special, like OHL I'd like to go before them but then dogs grieve as do humans .

we had a dog when we were both working in our younger days, it was crazy and stupid not fair on the dog plus they'd sometimes create havoc and mess because of boredom and being lonely.

We’ve got three dogs at the moment - a 15 year old Cocker, a German Shepherd just turned 3 and a 5 yr old lurcher. The cocker is in his twilight and given his ailments a very painful decision is going to have to be made. That will be when he no longer gets anything out of life not make our lives easier. His back legs are nearly gone and he’s doubly incontinent. He also paces with dementia for up to an hour or more in the middle of the night usually falling over and not being able to get up without my assistance. But he’s our boy and we’ll do everything for him until it’s time.

That’s it though, the other two will go with my daughter when she moves later this year. No more after that, it’s emotionally stressful and downright expensive. And also a huge consideration when planning holidays as I won’t put them in kennels.

Thats the worst part of having a dog /pet , one day you may have to make painful decisions , after our previous dogs passed away I vowed never to have another but along came two and it would have been rude not to .

Grew up with an Alsation who I loved as my first experience of a dog in our family .

It could be vicious but never a threat to me or my Sister growing up back in the day .

My late mother continued to rear the breed for years later without a problem and docile if treated properly .

German Shepherd thankfully has now gone back to the original name of the animal .

Lovely looking dogs, but I don't trust them, one was living over the back for us when me and my Brother growing up, I was always wary of the dam thing, my Brother less so, but then one day the thing attacked him and he turned to walk away the vicious thing jumped the fence and attacked him.

I lost my Weimaraner 8 years ago, and I was heartbroken. The pain of losing them was so hard that I promised myself I’d never go through it again.

We eventually made the decision to have another dog. Now we have a Vizsla, and while no dog could ever replace the one we lost, she's a cracking dog.

They’re both incredible breeds. As long as you’re ready to give them the time, energy, and exercise they need, they’ll give you everything they have right back (they are called Velcro Vizsla's for a reason).

How uncanny. A good friend of mine used to have a weimerana. Now he has a Visala.

Boxers for me, we’ve had three since living in Spain. Two have passed away but it seems so quiet without a dog. Max is our third, Very protective and loyal. They are very noble dogs. All rescuded by boxer dogs Spain. Once you get over the tough start they have had they are really appreciative.

Thou shall not pass.

Couple of boxers around here
Very unfriendly but that’s down to ownership and sociability issues which should have been addressed whilst young
When we were having our Lab trained , there was a Dutch Shepherd dog on the same course
Similar to the Malinois my daughter has and just as challenging
They need at least 3 hours per day mental and physical challenges and are not the best with kids
Magnificent and awesome animals though
