Guinness West Indies porter (6%) 11:43 - Dec 14 with 1530 views | Pegojack | A heads up for all you serious beer drinkers on here. I've recently bought the above from Tescos (500ml bottles), it's on offer amongst the large range of bottled beers they are promoting for Christmas. £6.00 for 4, although with a voucher they sent me for £6.00 off £30.00 shopping, it was effectively £1.20 a bottle. If you like dark stouts and porters, this ale in a word is SUPERB. I think it's one of the products this fancy 'beer development' department they've been advertising has come up with. It's like Guinness on steroids - full of dark chocolate and licourice undertones with a nice bitter finish, and packs a powerful punch. Drink it chillled from the fridge. It'll knock your socks off. I agree that the Guinness Porter is ace too .. I also recommend Young's Double Chocolate from the majors if the rich taste is what you hanker after.. Craft beers/indies....? Abingdon Based Loose Canon Robust British Porter 5% is fantastic.. But King of the Darks for me is Bristol's Arbor Ales Coffee and Chocolate Breakfast Stout 7.4%....If you were served this in Belgium you would be vvanking under the table...its incredible... Irish Moss is a Jamaican drink - like a lumpy milkshake... Imagine sucking the nipple discharge of a 5-day dead pregnant woman on a mortuary slab but in a tin... That's pretty much it...

Don't mind a few Guinness's now and again, but that's it for me, Brains Dark is ok,ish, but the taste varies so much between different pubs its hard to find a consistent pint, so I rarely bother these days, especially when there's plenty of Pale Ales about. [Post edited 14 Dec 2015 21:39]

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Another favourite would be Adnams Broadside but unfortunately haven't been able to get hold of lately.
Guinness West Indies porter (6%) on 09:26 - Dec 15 with 1198 views | Cooperman | As an aide... I'm still in competition with a mate to see who can sample lagers from as many countries as possible. I've done most of the mainstream producers although there are still a few European areas to tick off. I'm up to about 60 and it's getting hard although I did lay hands on a bottle of Zambian lager just yesterday. So, if you're venturing somewhere obscure some time soon please get in touch.

I had two goes at this HJ. On the first occasion it was on the back of a hot chilli based dish so I thought that my taste test was possibly flawed. So, I had another sup last night. Not good I'm afraid, I found it a little too overpowering on the palette.

Guinness West Indies porter (6%) on 12:37 - Dec 24 with 1047 views | trampie | Some say Guinness is based on a Welsh recipe, as regards this Guinness porter stuff, is it dead ? [is it still fermenting in the bottle], does it have chemicals and additives in it. Without wanting to sound like a beer snob, there is beer and there is beer.
