English refs 11:48 - Dec 10 with 3593 viewstrampie

First Poll then Webb and now Clattenburg and we have to put up with these types of refs.
A couple of phrases spring to mind, officiating by numbers and career refs.

Mike Dean was getting a lot of abuse on the West Brom forum. He's a homer apparently who gave us too many soft free kicks and gave them nothing at all.

I think the title to the post should be refs.

The fact that they are English is neither here nor there.

It is to Trampie because he's a massive bigot.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

If he’d put Premier League instead of English it could be a very good thread.

It could have, but the pixies in his head naturally force him to suspect bias and English oppression.

I'm sure there's some sort of mental acrobatics he performs to justify that to himself.

Poll booked the same player 3 times in a World Cup match before sending him off.

Webb in the World Cup final itself allowed foul after foul by Holland before eventually booking one of their players then immediately booked a Spanish player after more or less their first foul, the pattern continued, Holland committed foul after foul before they received their second yellow of the match then straight away he gave a card to Spain to even the card count up, Holland were doing Kung Fu kicks the lot and getting away with it, they should have had 3 or 4 players sent off but ended up with virtually every outfield player booked but no red card until deep into extra time when there was a possibility of it going to penalties and the team that should have won not winning only then was a player for Holland shown a red card.
Now we have Clattenburg come out with scandalous comments about how he referred Chelsea v Spurs in a huge match.

So called top modern English officials seem to officiate by numbers, they seem to be career refs that don't want to be involved in controversy or involved in a shock result.

Swansea are a small team which probably goes against them and are a Welsh team which might also go against them, Swans will get some wrong decisions in their favour but will get a lot more wrong decisions go against them.

Clattenburg seems to be underline what can only be referred to as an agenda, it could be said to be the case for a lot of top English officials.

Has to be said, ever since that calamity at Ninian Mike Dean is usually fairly friendly.

A Welsh team playing in the English pyramid system.

MAYBE, we should leave and have derbies against Port Talbot and Carmarthen with welsh refs.

It's a serious admission that only underlined what some thought about English officiating.
Why have the authorities not acted ?, why have authorities in England not said anything although Clattenburg is now abroad ?
It is a scandal, the integrity of the game is affected, the whole episode seems to have been brushed under the carpet.

What’s their nationality got to do with it?

If you weren't obsessed with his nationality this would be a very good point. Spurs could easily have won that game and he has admitted cheating to help them because in his mind it was about hm, not the game.

It seems to be institutionalised that is why, I watch international and European football and don't see it to anywhere the same degree as with English officials.

But it seems to be more of an English problem than a universal one, other nationality refs officiate what happens in the game but with some of these top English officials it's as if it's pre determined how they are going to officiate it.

One of the worst refs I remember in my time supporting the swans was Keith Cooper and he was Welsh.

To be honest tramp, I think your looking for something that isn’t there. They may be poor refs but the fact that they are English has nothing to do with it.
