He reads out a poem on twitter referring to black people as coloureds and all the anti-racists thinks it’s fantastic. Where the fuçk are we going with all this?

People genuinely affected by racism must be despairing at how much of a shitstorm this has become.
I get the ‘all publicity is good publicity’ point, but BLM should only ever be a positive thing. It’s been sullied by the timing of the George Floyd incident happening during the pandemic and the leeches that have just gone along for a ruck.

Are you allowed to say that on here? 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸

The weaponisation of language has completely stymied debate.
You can always come up with notable exceptions where some words are completely inappropriate in certain settings but somehow we've ended up in a place where moderate people are afraid to speak in case they get it wrong.
It's a little long but if you've 20 odd minutes to spare, watch the below youtube link of Stephen Fry's bits from a debate on political correctness. He articulates what middle-of-the-road people are thinking in a way I could only dream of.
It’s always struck me as a bit strange that “coloured people” is considered offensive but “people of colour” isn’t.
The term " Coloured (Colored) People" is considered a highly offensive racial slur, especially in the USA, because it recalls a time when casual racism was a part of everyday life there - as shown in the pics below.
In the UK, many people see it at best, an old fashioned terrm, "Something your gran or grandad might say".
Yet in South Africa, the term "coloured" describes a multiracial ethnic group native to Southern Africa

Exactly. It was horrible. Even Sammy Davis Jr had to enter the theatre via the cellar door and travel upstairs in the goods lift to perform at a show that he was headlining. It was utter madness. But “people of colour” means exactly the same thing yet it’s fine to say. Semantics ey?

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Sammy was even stopped from performing at JFK's inauguration, because he married a "white" woman, and interracial marriage was outlawed in many states.
This was one time that his best pal Frank Sinatra couldn't help him.

You obviously struggled to listen to the poem as well given it doesn’t say what you said it did.
What’s wrong with you Lisa you come across as such an awkward twát on times.
The last two lines of the poem from a black/coloured person to a white person are....
So, between you and me, Who is the coloured man?
The theme of the thread is is it right to call a black person coloured? Nothing else. So answer this question yes or no,is it right to describe a Black person as coloured in 21st century Great Britain?
