Would you have him ?

Text from Robins webzine
A number of Bristol City supporters have been reacting to recent comments from Kasey Palmer suggesting that he could be open to a permanent switch to Swansea City. Palmer was deemed surplus to requirements by Dean Holden in the summer and allowed to make a loan move to Championship rivals Swansea City. That came after the 24-year-old managed to make just 11 league starts last term under Lee Johnson and struggled to find much consistency to his game, in what was a frustrating campaign for the mercurial talent. The attacker has been used largely from the bench by Steve Cooper so far this season since arriving on loan at Swansea, but the 24-year-old has managed to average one successful dribble and 0.9 key passes per game despite his limited number of starts (Sofascore). Palmer has proved to be a go-to player for the Welsh club to try and unlock tiring defences in the closing stages of games.

Wouldn't pay money for him.

Bristol City paid £3.5m for him. He was brought in to fill the void of Morgan Gibbs white getting injured.

A few stellar match winning perforances are needed from him. He is on a 6 month loan and brought in to hold down the place of MGW. He must deliver now. At 25 no one wants to talk about potential.

If he puts in steallar performances Swansea might be willing to pay upto £2m. Then it is down to Bristol City.

Thing is MGW is a loanee too and we certainly couldn't afford to buy him so it's a yes from me, maybe even a small fee.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Yes

He’s got something about him, like all players would benefit from a regular run in ghe team but he makes things happen whilst also being combative and brave.

I agree with this. He's a raw talent but the worry is you shouldn't really be that raw at 24/25.

He needs a run in the team before any of us rights him off. He needs to do more of the basics right first and stay on his feet more. Whether that would take something away from the player he wants to be or thinks he is, I don't know. But he's a physical unit and should be a lot stronger on the ball than he has shown.

I've been encouraged by his last 2 games and it seems he's further up the pecking order now, slightly.

But, going back to my other post, he needs players around him and off him. We're too stiff at the moment.

damned right I'd sign him. He was having a very good game against boro and inexplicably took our most effective player on the night off.

That’s how I saw it too, where would your money be if that was Grimes as an example. In my pocket is my answer 😉

Can't take to him,he not for me,after watching him at Norwich when time after time he was letting his player just run off him into space leaving them with extra man in midfield causing us problems..when he thought it was dangerous he would then try and get back instead of going in first place, cheating they called it when I was playing, just can't take to him yet..

Never realised he was mid 20s, I thought he came through England u17s with Brewster etc.

Still only just turned 24 though so still plenty of scope for improvement,

He’s definitely got ability and not afraid to put a foot in. That aggression will help our team. Along with Bennett he’s added some steel to the squad

Time will tell if he’s a success or not. Too early to say but I’ve been impressed with him so far with many aspects of his game and he will only get better when he settles in..

There must be a player there somewhere. But for whatever reason he's not made the grade and holding down regular positions in teams.

This is another chance for him and if he's going to make it he's got to stay taking these chances. He ticks a lot of boxes but agree there's question marks as well.
