Sadly it’s a blight on our beautiful country. There are numerous causes including dirty stinking people who won’t take their litter home with them, local councils who make it very difficult and expensive to dispose of waste at civic amenity sites, these cowboy waste disposal companies who then fly tip rubbish in beauty spots and the countryside.
I’d make it easier and cheaper to hire skips etc, I’d increase the fines for dropping litter, I’d hammer the fly tippers and I’d also introduce work for the dole and utilise people on benefits to undertake community litter picks etc. | | | |

People need to realise this next time a soiled nappy/sanitary item gets under your feet on a beach somewhere.
Personally,I challenge anyone I see dropping shyte especially kids.I do not care .I'm a confrontation individual ok but I don't see why kids should have a red bull or a bottle of stella then smash it only for somebody's pet dog to end up in a vet with split pads. | |

I went to the recycling centre the other day. A chap came in with a nice motor and a small trailer on the back, with a washing machine and a fridge.
He was stopped at the entrance and told no trailers. But he could put them in his car and bring them in. Absolute madness.
He drove off and most likely dumped them in the countryside.
He had a 20 plate nice car and well dressed. If that makes a difference to anyone. | |

Wifey and I often go out cycling down the Wirral Way and take all sorts of snacks .We see relatively few bins apart from the Leisure Areas where people can BBQ . We simply shove our crap into a bag and shove it in our carriers. It aint hard for us but it is for many.

Its crazy, I've used a recycling centre loads of times over the last yr, it's all very well organised, but with various different items to dump, if can be murder with the various skips and its usually the heaviest item you need to dump where the relevant skip is the furthest away  | |

Local to me there is a nice lake in Llandrindod.
For years Powys County Council had hardly any bins, so rubbish everywhere.
In the last few years the Town Council put plenty of bins, and empty them regularly.
No rubbish now.

Swansea council seem to be at odds with their environmental policy , say you consider it your civic duty to dispose of say a small item such as small portable TV so to save time you carry the item into the baling plant instead of joining a very long queue of like minded individuals sitting in their cars with the engines running (we've all done it ) . Only to be turned away by a Hi Viz expert in obstruction whos' words oft repeated and never wavering in their content " sorry mate you have to join the queue" ,you can't walk in even though you know it makes sense both in time and a reduction in C02 levels. | |

You really have to be a bit of a t wat to work in a recycling centre (at least in Bridgend).
I have never seen so many blokes in florescent jackets stood around doing nothing, what type of man watches an elderly person struggle to remove items from their car (& they could do it even with COVID).

My local council are pretty good I fill out form on line which bin I left my litter bags to or pick up at my house
