I haven't been in a non essential shop in a year and that won't change any time soon. Why do these people need to rush out and swamp the shops, are they that desperate to queue up?

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that people have been unable to purchase items that they need for months. Not everyone has an Amazon account. Not everyone is comfortable with internet shopping. Maybe some people just want to do something normal again.

I reckon my mum stayed married only to have my father chauffeur her to Chapel and singing performances .
