His comments are totally reasonable and pretty much spot on in his analysis in terms of what people that were there have said.

I dont get to see his comments unfortunately.

As he is never there. All from hearsay. Comments on matches he does not know the result of.

But anyway. All sites need a negative view point and when team are in bottom half they will feel right.

Some feel that calling for a manager to be sacked every 8 matches or so when things arent going smoothly is a little hasty..

But slating a manager or players when chips are down is very easy. Not exactly rocket science. Any twp can do it.

If you need proof, it's all available to see on this site with a minority of contributors, who rarely if ever attend Swans matches.

Relegation battle, hell yes. It is where we are. Lets just see where we are in a month or so.

Abit like slating managers when they are winning games then

Funny how last seasons whingers have become this seasons happy clappers and are always shouting down anyone who questions what is currently happening.

Maybe those happy clappers need to take off thier rose tinted blinkers and actually see what is happening.

I have posted elsewhere some comments from the MKDons forum discussing Martin they make interesting reading.

No one is calling for Martin to be sacked the club cant it afford either financially or from a football perspective...all some are doing arre questioning the "blind faith" being put in Martin despite the lack of results, or lack of shots or goals . It seems this was true of his football last season.

I have commented the simply fact that consecutive 0-0 draws are seen as improvement.

Were we THAT bad pre Russ.> Not sure we were .

He is making out he has taken on a hitherto impossible task and IF he pulls it around then hi stock will rise exponentially .

My God,the naivety is stupifying. Hope Im wrong however .

I go on hunches and gut feeling added to experience of the past and optimism. There is no doubt Cooper would have has slightly better results.

Earlier in the Summer I was depressed at the though of another season of Cooperball without Ayew. and Guehi. I watched the Plymouth per season game and it just made me angry for reasons I cannot explain fully. I was relieved he had gone. His card was marked the moment he sniffily discussed his January signings. The team was not as one.

Now the team seems joined up and united. Swansea last tw games has seen a ots of pots at goal. Martin did not criticise the 2nd half Luton comeback against a team using thuggery on the pitch and intimidation off it. Lets get it right.

Not really.

You thrive in defeat. A successful Swans team is your worst nightmare.

On Saturday we couldn't shut you up for the first half. Barely a peep out of you for the second though. Naturally you reappeared last night.

Disgusting.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I knew we would get to this point.

People will get to a point where they can’t defend the results anymore, the focus will switch to attacking those that aren’t happy with them and claiming they are enjoying us being bad.

Which is a bit of a fallacy really as the complaints have coincided with being bad, it was never a willing of them to be bad.

It’s far easier to point the finger to defend the indefensible.

It seems we have reached that point folks. I highlighted it here:-

I wasn't on this site last season.

Results last year under Cooper were very good. Entertainment value was very low.

I have no idea who was positive / negative last year.

As for happy clappers. I am not one. I have been critical this season at times, but I also understand what a tough job Russ or any new manager would have with no preseason with the team, key players sold or loans ended.

I do believe we need time for team to gel is needed. I think we need to get a regular starting 11, play our best players when all match fit.

Some of our recruitment has been excellent but not really got started yet.

Best is yet to come and I cant wait.

If only people believed what they typed.

Wasn’t long ago you were saying we need to make the two home games count (0-0 and 0-0).

No more excuses you said. That’s very quickly changed, now that it didn’t go to plan.

I see a lot of people’s “judge after 10 games” is now also moving ever so subtly, “10-15” some are now starting to say…

This is the crucial statement, "play our best players when all match fit.".
Martin's idea of "best players" doesn't usually match the fan's idea of best players.

I am surprised that nobody from this message board has not been appointed as manager yet, in all the years we have offered our views and opinions.

Why hasn't a poster been appointed as SCFC manager ? Are they missing a trick ? Most on here would do the job for less money as well.

Football teams need to start looking outside the box for recruitment. I saw a lad score a goal down the park this morning, I should be a scout.

Indeed, why should anyone who watched the game for 25, 50, 60 years have a view on the game, unless they are on the shortlist for the manager role.

Same as politics, how can anyone have a view that doesn't have a realistic chance of being President/Prime Minister.

Movies is another, how can anyone really have a view on movies unless they are going to be appointed as the next director of the year's big blockbuster.

You’re entitled to your point of view, but I can’t agree based on two things. Firstly you mentioned the lack of shots but shots per game must have improved dramatically this season compared to last so I’m of the view that goals will follow. Secondly you’re a Cooper disciple so you’re point of view is imbalanced as any Martin ‘happy clapper’.

If you could state what your target is for this year then maybe you could find some common ground. A lot of people including myself felt that Cooper was strangling the life out of the players, and as a result the club and the fans. It could be argued that he was decent enough results wise but that is also debatable. Martin is not the messiah, he has a lot to do, but his appointment represents a couple of hours important things - a fresh start and a return to footballing values.

If some fans want to sacrifice all else for a handful of turgid 1-0 wins that actually achieve nothing at the end of the season then more power to them. For me, loving the swans is about more than that.

“Firstly you mentioned the lack of shots but shots per game must have improved dramatically this season compared to last.”

They haven’t improved, not even close.

Declined by 16%+, that’s huge.

First 8 games under Cooper = 97 shots and 12 goals
First 8 games of 2nd Cooper season = 96 shots and 10 goals
..........
First 8 games under Martin = 80 shots and 7 goals

I appreciate that you love your stats but their only applicable in the context of that one game. No games, seasons, Managers, teams, players. thought processes tactics, opposition or conditions are ever the same .Once the game is played by robots controlled by computers then maybe your stats may actually mean something.

He said the shots have increased this season compared to last.

The stats show that is not the case.

That accounts for tactics, thought process, opposition and all the other variables you listed. It’s a very specific claim that requires a very specific response, which is what the stat is.

It was no deep and meaningful stat other than showing the assertion that we shoot “dramatically” more compared to last season is not accurate, or even close.

People are yet again seeing what they want to see. It’s often not even close to reality, why people are getting antsy about people adding the reality and the facts there is beyond me.

We only have your word for that and it cannot be verified so empty drivel as far as Im concerned.

Cooper football want much different to that which Rusy is serving up excpet that we had Ayew who single handedly aw us into the play offs. We could put away chances. This year is really what you see is what is happening.

A disorganised ,disparate group of players under an ingenue manager who is a good talker.

No logic at all to follow his every word like sheep.
