Not true. I have trained in the use of techniques to combat knifes ,blade and other weapon.
There is a chance of injury for sure but the techniques incapacitate .Trust me on that.
In those circs,however,if you're going to hit,do it as hard as you can.

Agreed, it could go very wrong. I'd more than likely run, if faced with what he had. I'm not sure, never been in that situation, and wouldn't like to be.

They may work in training , in the dojo or classroom where you know what's coming and it's a controlled environment, but there are no techniques that will parry, block or avoid a sharp knife on the streets. A knife attack is ferocious and quick
