After all the trouble at the rugger, the WRU are going to close the bars after the half time break.
So they are open before the game, all the first half, then at half time so fans can take a tray of 4 to their seat for the second half.
You just couldn't write it.

There’s no trouble in the rugger mun, it’s just friendly banter.

It won’t make any difference. Most people are already of their t*ts before they go into the stadium.
If they breathalysed fans on entry - now THAT would make a difference!

Downside is the attendance would drop to 25000

It comes to something when some drunken oaf throws up all over a kid in front of him, he couldn't stand up.

They have had to introduce a no drinking area now, but the WRU won't ban drinking in your seat, because they are only interested in profit

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

I am just saying that it's a crazy thing to do Max. It isn't going to make any difference as people are well pi££ed well before half time. So what they are doing is pointless.
Jeremy is a good friend. I used to be down the Gnoll regularly watching him play. And helping him use his beer vouchers after the game.

I don't think it's the consumption of booze that's changed but the demographic of the crowd.

I used to stand on the east terrace as a kid and it would be swimming in p!ss. Back then I think the crowd were 98% men, now it's more like 50% men 25% kids and 25% women, and that's a good thing.

The problem is a good percentage of the adults would have been on the pop since they woke up and probably sunk 6 cans on the train on the way to Cardiff. Closing the bars or even not opening them at all won't make any difference.

I'm not condoning it but he only way to solve it really is to have a family stand as at the liberty.

max mun, if football fans turned up to a stadium like a lot of those rugby fans, we wouldn't be allowed in anymore.
I've seen groups brawling on Westgate street. I've seen fights in pubs on Wind street, and outside. My sister lives in Cardiff and she says she wont go near the centre on a match day because it's always trouble these days with drunken people.

it's not anti rugby, it's anti alcohol! The WRU dont want to stop selling beer completely because they make so much money. I haven't been to a 6 nations game in 19 years. I went with two mates to see us lose to Ireland. Even back then I was fed up with people going back and fore. It's better to watch on the tv.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

In their defence I think I’d have to be completely pissed to have to sit through a rugby match these days. Used to love it but it’s just gone so boring.

People who don’t enjoy getting up and down to let people pass are going to hate the first half then. People will binge even more in preparation for the second half closures.

I don’t think you can avoid it. It’s a societal problem and as has been mentioned already, more of a ‘family’ crowd than it used to be. Unless you breathalyse people on entry (which will never happen), it’s pretty hard to combat.

They need to be stricter in terms of letting people in who are absolutely smashed...but that’s difficult in itself.

For me, it’s all part of a rugby day out but I can control myself (as can the large majority, in fairness).

Group of us going to Bridgend for England game, Mrs Brother lives there, so one of her other brothers and his Mrs and us are going up,

Whoops lol.
As well,as,his boot money he managed to get 50 beer vouchers for home games. Apparently the sales rep for the brewery used to get them a few free barrels every order, so it didn't cost Neef anything. Those were the days.

Rugby is just an excuse for a pissup. Maybe 20% of the people in the stadium genuinely give a shit about the game.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Its far higher than 20%, saying its 20% is just daft, its just that the cowboy hats and the jolly up brigade are more noticeable.

Oh come on, we rarely heard of trouble at the rugby but if ANYTHING happens at football, it's reported.
Even when they do report stuff it's not about ant violence, it's about drunks throwing up.

Not condoning any drunken behaviour but football matches are far more intimidating to attend (particularly away ends) than any rugby games.

I lived next door to Steve Powell, the Neath full back. Great guy.. I say full back but he played everywhere in the backs. Then did his milking and milk round from 4am every morning.

I don't think that even you know what the f*ck you're going on about any more.

Time to retire from Social Media maybe? You've already done your best to convince people that you're devastated by the Swans winning today.
