Always loved football, Swans are my local proffesional team, connection with my mates growing up, and as I've got older, it's a day out with my sons. We all work different times and shifts, Swans @ home is guaranteed time we spend together.

For me, it is a distraction from the realities of life and how damned shitty and cruel it can be.
Same as this and other forums.
I find it hard to take any of it seriously for that reason.

A mate asked me to go, I was 8 it was 1965, hooked ever since, a season ticket used to be my birthday present every August 1st.

Passed on to my son.

Swansea till I die!

Been a supporter for 50 odd years. Ill health means I can no longer go to games and sadly came to the realisation that my best chance of following the mighty Swans is on TV. I do miss the buzz of the crowd though which is a massive part of the experience.
Avid reader of this forum which is the next best thing when it comes to mixing with fellow supporters. For me, it is the best Swans site available. Despite the squabbles and dramas :)

Sorry to hear that you cant attend any more.
Most of the stuff on here is handbags and at the end of the day some take it too seriously.
Glad you are with us in spirit.
Though it's unfair in a way you get away with not suffering in person like the rest of us !
Take care

Oh I suffer mate. Dont worry. Remember I get replays too plus some inane commentary so probably suffer more haha.

Swear box pretty full too although takings are down last few matches thank god.

Although that ref today was an absolute beaut.

Travelling to games in the North West or midlands and being in awe at how far you guys travel to support the swans. More importantly being able to treat my dad to home matches and watching how much he enjoys it. When he was a kid, when he wasn’t playing, he loved to watch the Swans.

Yes I think I swore more today than in many matches.
He was abysmal.
Yes true the commentary available from some sources leaves a lot to be desired.
Enjoy ( if that is the word ) as best you can mate

Watching the swans gives me the same feeling i had when I first started watching in 1977 when my uncle used to come and pick me up from plasmarl for almost every home game, a massive buzz and now that buzz has passed onto my eldest, he's born and bred in lancashire but has no time for any other team, it gives me great pleasure when I listen to him on his xbox taking to his mates about the team he loves, they all admire him for actually going to watch the swans when most of them are plastics, I especially love watching him watching the swans, he's getting as bad as me lol, last week was really really special as we could see ourselves on the fans cam going wild after we scored, I must love him because I forgave him for nearly knocking my front set out with his swede after obas first goal 🤣🤣

He played sport to a decent level, country level football, trials for Glamorgan, rugby in the RAF. Sadly skipper a generation with me, I’m a decent runner, but I’m rubbish at team sports. My nephew however, is a Texan and has a got a scholarship to play rugby in Uni.

I’m going to try to get home again before the end of the season.

my son, just learnt to drive, brought up in Newport but known no other team through my 'introductions' and many years of trips home and away. (as does my daughter to be fair) He has driven down to matches on his own in the last few months, stopping at my parents, going down to the match with my Dad. Even caught the train on his own to an away game too recently, talking and becoming friends with fellow Jacks on the way down. Other than his grandparents and me he is has no other direct connections with the city, but is a Jack through and through.

Friends, family and neighbours all follow the Swans.
Brought up with stories of big John and Ivor. And their brothers.
No hatred of Cardiff.

Then being part of the Harry Griffiths/Tosh miracle years.
Curtis, Robbie and Charlo the source of our special pride.
Beating Palace at Ninian Park in a reply.
Watching the other evening results come in through a window of tv shop on orchard street.

Taking my kids to that Hull game, and taking the same kids to Wembley to see Brendan get us into the Prem.

Trunds and the move to the Liberty.
Nathan and Routs running riot.

A lifetime of memories and stories to tell.
And those who could not attend always listened on the radio.

And doing the Doube was special.
