And his comment about the keeper and back three having no support was 100% on the money.

He needs to take a massive look at himself he coaches and picks the team to go out on Match day and perform, if there's elements of doubt then he needs to lay it on the line to those players, then if they don't respond in the manor expected then they don't get selected, that's in an ideal world of course, but I'd rather younger players or "lesser" players eager to to play with the passion needed start games.
There is also a responsibility on him to set a system in place to get the best performance from those players, its fine having an idealistic view on how he wants to play, but there must also be the realisation that the players he has in his squad haven't the skill set to play the way he wants, the message then is, to play to your strengths and to the strengths of the players available, you can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear etc, etc
Which is a lesson he needs to learn and accept.

Don't know why Fisher was brought in, he got rid of Benda, he does have a mistake in him, but he's young in Goal Keeper terms and still learning and will get better, then there's Hamer who is another with mistakes in him, but he was decent enough for a team like us at the moment, and certainly a keeper who helps his defence out and his confident in commanding his area, for the most part at least.
400grand wasted in buying Fisher for me. | |

As you say Keith surely communication us a key part if the managerial role....whilst yes some players may not now where there future lies as maybe offers are already tabled or hinted at others know they want be here next season like Smith so why was he even in yesterday's squad surely a youngster could gave been given minutes

Couldn’t agree more. I backed him in the beginning but we have made zero progress - in fact we looked a lot worse than QPR yesterday and that is not acceptable.
Should never have had smith in the squad yesterday - some of our u23’s should have been given some game and bench time.
Really annoyed he took Piroe off - wanted him to get another to give him a quarter of a century goals yesterday.
I joined the many thousands streaming out of the stadium we no intention of watching a “lap of honour” from some players who couldn’t be fekin arsed. |  |

Ogbeta is the innocent victim in all this, he's been caught up in a battle of wills and politics within the club, is my view at least.

Very little his agent can do I’d imagine.
It’s a strange one though. Martin seems to dig his heels in to make a point. That’s great when the alternative works but not so if he cuts his nose to spite his face. I have my doubts about Martin’s man-management abilities tbh. |  |

"The people who are on the bench are the people who deserve to be on the bench" says that those not on the bench don't deserve to be there for some reason even if it affects the tactical balance of the team.
Clearly something is off behind the scenes with Bennett, Ogbeta and Burns. Whether it is down to the players, Martin not wanting them, clauses under contracts or something else there is something going on. | | | |
