Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Depends on whether he is genuinely learning from his mistakes or not. If he is, he will drop this obsession with possession at all costs and allow the players to express themselves for 90 minutes not just the odd 45. He will swallow his pride and admit he made serious error of judgement in dropping Benda and spending £400k on Fisher. He will appoint a deputy who can provide constructive challenge to him, not just someone he has worked with before who he knows will go with the flow. if he does all of that, and we hold on to a few key players in the next window, we can genuinely contend for the play-offs.
If not, it'll be mid-table mediocrity and I suspect Silverstein will pull the plug just before the January window opens.

If they sack him. Do you think the club should go after Klopp from Liverpool ?

Not ambitious enough. Try for Pep instead. Seriously I am sure by Christmas, rather appropriately, we will all be singing from the same hymn sheet, as Swansea sit in the top two for promotion
"Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination" - Mark Twain
I hoping for an automatic spot and a play off place is the least I expect but agree with others that it’s going to depend on departures and arrivals to some extent.
In response to a previous poster: the owners want to be in the top division, they invested money to make more money and they’ll make more money by being in the premier league. The flip side of that is if the club becomes unsustainable trying to get back there we become another Derby.

They could do worse than go after Liam Manning, who has shown that he can take a team that was stuck in a sterile pattern of possession-for-its-own-sake football and turn them into winners. But as I say, I hope that Martin has what it takes and that sacking him will not be required.
He'll be here all season methinks. On a good run so optimism high. Can't see being consistent enough under him to be much higher next year. If he starts to learn how to shut up shop on occasions we may finish a tad higher.

Who can say? It depends entirely on results...or does it? he's the owners man and they promised him time. How much did they promise, how much money did they commit to?
I think he's here for the whole season and beyond unless we are in such deep trouble by Christmas that they have to do something.
Whether that something is letting him spend on new signings or sacking him, who knows? Would they be happy to just let us be relegated with the financial repercussions that will bring?
There are so many variables in every football club that it's impossible to say. For example, if we didn't sell Piroe, Oba or Downes but sold a few others and then he was allowed to bring in 2/3 players of his choosing then he has no excuse so if things are going badly, he should he be sacked? But if we sold all three and even more but he was only allowed to spend enough to bring in 3 players, if things went badly then, do they sack him?
For me the reality should be that if the owners want us to move up the table then this coming season is the one to take the gamble with, don't sell those 3 and let him bring in another 3. try and move on the unwanted, Fulton, Bennett, whoever, to reduce costs and then see where we are at Christmas, if we're not going anywhere then see what offers we get to balance the books.

All views are welcome - I think ...
I think therefore I am. Good try but no thanks . I am done as regards the coach and any comments
It’s going to be a tough summer not discussing what lies ahead next season. I hope we are all still around to swop comments. I’m thinking of Lord Bony right now and what a contributor he was on the sites previous incarnation .

So what you are really trying to say is that you don’t know where Swansea will finish next season.
Will last the whole season as long as he wants too stay. He's done a very good job thus far all things taken on board and if allowed to carry on, he will continue the good work in progress.
It depends if the board support in the transfer market (and he bring in the players he wants from MK Dons).
Winter will want us to be competitive and I would expect the initial target will be Top 10 before the season break in November. The World Cup break will see a lot of managers leave as clubs reset for the second half of the season.

The initial target surely has to be top 6. In my opinion the squad is good enough for a top 10 this season but there have been too many mistakes, from manager as well as players.
