I was recently talking to a manager of a private shopping centre who advised me the company he worked for had to pay incentives to attract and retain major flagship stores at developments which really surprised me. I’d have thought it would be other other way around with companies clambering to open shops but that’s not the case. | | | |

It was right to give private businesses a bribe to open up stores? Wll apart from disagreeing with that, that's not what it says in the story, the money hasn't gone to those firms but to the Canadian comoany that owns the whole site, they say it's about the rent on empty lots.

Cannot argue with DVLA settling in in Swansea , it gave me my first job back in 1975 , have moved on since though , another family member is currently employed there now .
My thoughts are , do we need to bribe companies so they bring employment to an area , and do such firms look to the best sweetener available from local authorities .
We also now have Government outsourcing to underfunded areas just to look like they care about that place , give them jobs they will then vote for us . | | | |

As Kilks' figures show, UK Govt has historically done a much better job at providing opportunity to the entirety of Wales than the Senedd ever has. |  |
