| AELTC and LTA 16:32 - Dec 12 with 1365 views | trampie | The All England Lawn Tennis Club and Lawn Tennis Association have been fined huge sums by World governing bodies for banning Russian and Belarus tennis players and quite right too, one of the most ridiculous decisions in sport I've heard of, just like the authorities over here stripping an English schoolgirl of her citizenship, the way some of these English led authorities conduct themselves is beyond belief, have they no self awareness, the rest of the World looks on in shock at their conduct. If Wimbledon and the other tournaments try the same thing again next year they will be kicked out of tennis by the rest of the World. | |

They weren't hard done by France should have had two penalties but didn't have any, at least they did not need any to win.

Yes indeed and not a murmur of dissatisfaction at russia's acts of terrorism , silence is as good as condoning the current situation ,

You must have been delighted then when Elena Rybakina won Wimbledon, a Russian born and bred that was offered financial support to change her nationality when she was 19 to Kazakhstan.

It's a shame that all Russian players didn't change nationality in protest against the invasion and they could have all played.

Should the British and American players have been banned in Tony Blair’s era? If not, why not?

The west invaded Iraq in March 2003 ,eighteen months later in Oct. 2004 The ISG released its final report and chief inspector Charles Duelfer testified before congress about his team's findings that Iraq had no chemical weapons. So to compare the west now known illegal pretext for the invasion of Iraq and Russia's current war of terror against Ukraine has no comparison .Pre invasion a few knew the wests reason was bogus , the world with the exception of a few of Putins sycophants knew that Russia invasion was illegal from the outset

It's a good question and in my opinion, if the Uk takes part in any illegal invasions then the sports stars of the time should face the same sanctions i thinkt the Russians should face. More to the point though, Tony Blair lied to the country and he lied to Parliament so he should be up in the hague on war crimes charges. Putin should be there too but we wont see justice served for either.

Tony Blair has made a fortune since his PM days, on top of the fortune he already had, he'll never be brought to book for what he clearly did, it will be someone else's fault, the people who advised him no doubt, plus he was holding on to Bushes coat tail's who was a total warmonger, all the damming evidence about there being no or little evidence of WMD is all well tucked away and no case to answer, but we were all duped. And just to keep on thread subject, Anyone for Tennis? [Post edited 15 Dec 2022 20:39]
