He's ;ooling for a last big win contract is he? Well he can get lost. There are not many clubs around willing to splash out right now either, not at his level. Making expensive demands right now puts him in the same boathouse as our politicians, detached from reality.

There are plenty of Manning type players we can pick up for free at the end of the season. We have no Premier League potential asset's left in this squad now, so our American friends will have to get innovative if they don't want to see their shares devalue even more. For me we are at a critical point, if carry on in same trajectory we are heading for League One football not Premier League football. If they have real faith in Martin start backing him or sack him.

I agree it's a critical point. We have some players just not good enough (lati, Sorinola) we have Naughton who is past it and we have Oba who is stropping and Manning refusing to sign. We already needed 2-3 better players anyway. If the EPL is truly their aim then we need to ship out the waste and replace as best we can but PLEASE not with expensve loans that benefit others more than us! I agree again, either back Martin or stop making claims about ambitin that clearly are dubious at the least and bring someone in who will get the best out of the players we do have.

| Winter stories on 11:21 - Dec 26 with 1376 views | sw02sea | The thing is, if Manning, Lati bad oh dear, Ncham, plus Obafemi leave, you have the problem of how long does it (take in coaching terms), to “teach” the new recruits how to play MARTINBALL ? That isn’t going to happen overnight, and your relying on RM’s judgment, to bring in the right type of player. not sure that’s worked out too well. Mind you I’d take it all back if he recruits another Flynn Downs type of player. Who is head of recruitment by the way? I genuinely don’t know. | | | |
| Winter stories on 08:43 - Dec 27 with 1287 views | Swans9 | Derby Barnsley and Sheff Wed are all examples of how quick things can change from play offs to league 1. Huddesfield could be next. Winter could be on thin ice with the premiership is the aim. We all want the swans to do well but how can the prem be the aim with the 6 lowest player budget in the league. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If it’s not the aim then it’s all pointless because all sports teams need ambition . Is ours just to stay where we are as we don’t fit the Bill for the premier league . Not that long ago,the massive Brighton and Hove Albion were homeless and playing home games in Gillingham .With the right owners and leadership they are truly transformed . Swansea has massive untapped potential with real passion in the fan base which is sadly now being eroded. Huddersfield will stay up by the way

Yep, some people have ideas of grandeur. My take on it is if we get Into the play offs I will be chuffed, if we don't then hey ho we live to fight again.

That is a strange post do you think the squad under Rodgers thought the same? Was that squad so full of superstars?

What an odd post, to start with you cannot just sack players under contract. You can put them up for sale but you have to keep aying them until they are sold. You cannot release them without paying up their contract either, unless you reach a mutual agreement. Otherwise, maybe some of those players, Piroe, Cooper, Cabango, Wood, forexample, would love a crack at the EPL and we'd see if they have the potential because we wouldn't simply go out an spend 150 million on new players, we are not FEC Nottingham Forest ( Put another way, our owners are not that dull ) we don't have owners that rich, or willing to load that debt against the club, hopefully. Their attitude should be go out and prove themselves, if it's simply to give in because they are not good enough they never will be good enough. Vinnie Jones managed a solid career and not one of our players is as technically limited as he was.

We had a better left back on a free who we gave away to accommodate Manning. Idiotic decision
