| Russ Football for swansea or his career 11:08 - Dec 28 with 1399 views | guthrieintherain | 18 months down the line and we are no better than when hw joined nothing has changed really. So why does he stick with it. My theory is he thinks it will get him noticed and he will move up the ladder whilst we stagnate. He got a move from MK to us on the back of it. Now is getting linked with Norwich. I just can't see him getting us anywhere but would not surprise me a bit if he suceeded somewhere else with a bit more finance behind him. Maybe so but I have to ask, if thy had backed Cooper like they have backed Martin, where might we be now? Bearing in mind I wanted Cooper gone but now see it as a case of him not being backed, lied to and so he wanted out. Hindsight and all that. | |

Cooper bemoaned the fact he had not centre forward. He himself signed Peterson who he did not play. He was also given Goykeres a promising but raw Swedish u21 international. He did not give him a chance either. A year later he hit is stirrups big time. Cooper wanted Keinan Davis who is performing worse the Goykeres is. Cooper made an horrible error of judgement in favouring a player he had worked with over a player he had not worked with. Criticising the owners was an easier option to getting the best out of what he already had and will always curry favour with the moaners. [Post edited 28 Dec 2022 16:08]

Cooper also had two unwanted players thrust on him in the January window...despite their lack of fitness or ability Cooper gave them game time yet Martin has refused to play Ogebeta during the last 12 months such is this man's ego.....

You said Gyokeres wasn’t good enough too. Coventry also rarely started him after he left us and went to them on loan for the rest of the season. Promising he may have been, but someone worthy of a starting place he was not. No amount of hindsight fixes that. I also see nobody has taken a punt on your two American mates. Wonder why

Almost any Swans fan could fix half the goals we conceed by just playing the football in the top two thirds of the pitch. Cut out the suicide keeper routine. So Russy knows this but would rather lose again than change. Thats ego above immediate results. It gets him noticed though and it might have worked to Swans benefit as well - and it still might. With better players he might be successful elsewhere but the opposition coaches are onto him and we are getting caught multiple times almost every game. Outstanding to watch if you dont worry too much about the result.

Cooper was backed considerably more. Our wage bill under Cooper was massive

I am of the opinion he won’t get another job in the championship as people from other clubs have seen through him. We haven’t . It’s possible he will leave football and concentrate on his business outside . Thanks and I wish him well in his new career
