Next Summer. But yeah worth a small bid now that his stock has fallen and initial hype has died down. Can definitely be turned into a decent player

Aren’t they still under a transfer embargo? If so, I wouldn’t have thought selling was an option

Not sure he better than any of the 8 midfielders we have regularly used this season.

Has he been injured?

Cant get in a shite Cardiff City (10 appearances this season) so why would we want him (other than he is Welsh which gives some supporters a hard on)?

He’s hardly come on as a player in the last two years, he only got plaudits because WOL and Abbandanato were desperate to give Cardiff exposure. Another false flag.

The same Abbandanto who claimed no Swansea player would get in the Cardiff side last season?

The kid will be outstanding. He was outstanding then had a growth spurt and struggling to settle down with muscle strains .

Now close to 6 ft 4 in he resembled a Yaya Toure the other day head and shoulders above any one else in the Wales u21 team v Scotland.u21. 3-0 with Josh Thomas on the score sheet.

Interestingly Russell Martin went to Portugal as a guest of Matty Jones (ex Swansea academy) for a working break in Portugal.

"Nice tan Russell. I was working Mitch". Hopefully Russell know the boy from the trip and will have assessed him over 3-4 days of training.

Luca Hoole is getting good reports at Bristol Rovers. Beck from Liverpool and Savage Man utd need loans next season.

Savage on loan at forest green

Martin might have been casting an eye over U21 Welsh and Scottish talent (notionally checking up on Cotterill Congreve and Josh T for wales and Abdullai for Scotland).

Other players he might have been interested to see in action will be available for loan next season. Effectively 3 months time.

This includes Beck and Savage. Beck is a Fullback. He already knows Stevens who he did not risk in the first team.

Luca Hoole another strong Fullback has impressed Joey Barton this season. Other players are already attached to championship club such as Baker on loan at Newport from Stoke.

Martin and the recruitment team will know their contract status. Martin hasd a chance in Portugal to check out some leads first hand.

Pretty amazing that if he resembled Yaya Toure he isn't playing regularly for a team close to relegation from the 2nd tier of the English league system.

Unless the resemblance to Toure was a 1 off & in fact he's not that good (but Welsh).

Not sure that he has the potential to be outstanding , as so far theres been nothing that I've seen of him that would make me think that on a good day he's anything more than a decent footballer

He was streets ahead of anyone else on the pitch and looked the business in the recent Wales u21 game. The Scottish commentators were decrying the fact they had no one as good as him.

He is 6 ft 4in with great touch. He can look slow but that is because he has time on the ball and is strong. Downes was signed for £1,5m and was unable to get in Ipswich's team at an old age. A year later Swansea sold him for £14m.

I try to explain to forum followers the style of player Colwill is by comparing with past players. This does not mean he will not end up in the league of Wales of course if he is not mentally at it.

Downes was not unable to get into the Ipswich team. Ipswich turned down 2 offers from Palace, so Downes put in a transfer request. He was then ostracised from the first team.

Downes played 99 games & captained Ipswich winning their young player of the year award in his 1st season.

No comparison.

If Colwill wasn't Welsh he wouldn't be mentioned.

I mention him because I am Welsh and so is Colwill. This forum is Welsh owned and Swansea city are a Welsh club based in a Welsh city.

Both of us Neath born actually. I am not interested in g 'bigging up' foreign footballers like Luke Bellingham for example.

Wales have produced some sensational footballers and I expect that tradition to continue.

Colwill could turn out a gem or l turn out like another "Welsh young player of the year" Cardiff city's Tom O'Sullivan. The last I read about him was his release from Colchester Utd about 4-5 years ago. Colwill younger brother is reportedly a talent too.

Its a brutal business.

That was my point, if they can’t bring in a replacement they’d be stupid to let go of a supposedly promising prospect that’s already on the books?

I’m surprised they’re still under an embargo as FIFA lifted theirs, I think Cardiff are appealing the EFL embargo.

I suppose he thinks we play in a foreign league.

Amazes me that people who obviously hate everything English follow a football team who play in the English system & whose players were mainly born in England ( like our national team)

Why not follow a Welsh league club?

Should we sign a crap player because he’s Welsh?
