5 years, 3 months. Where are the stats for people waiting much longer than 2 years?

My mum recently had a knee replacement, when we went to see the surgeon he said he looked at the x-rays pre covid & was aware she needed a replacement for both knees.
Until the surgeon verbally told her this she wasn't even on the waiting list.
The figures are far worse than those published.
As posted earlier it makes no difference because the Welsh labour government will always be voted in. | | | |

Sometimes things get to big and expensive to run and need to be broken down to be cost effective and efficient. I'm not sure there is a place now for the National Health Service as we knew it. |  | | |

I agree, my neighbours family have clubbed together to get the funds to replace her hip, she can't wait 4 years. She is otherwise fit but struggling with her hip and at 83 may not be around that long.
We should take a similar approach as a country, put everything we can into this and divert any discretionary spend to reducing the waiting lists. |  |

In my opinion the NHS across the UK has been put into managed decline. That is not because it is unviable but rather that there are masses of profit to be made through private companies.
We spend so much money as a country on things that nobody wants, public services need to be streamlined and services provided for those that are needed. Not vanity projects like HS2 etc. | |

When Swansea runs out of Ambo's they send them in from other areas.
I had kidney stones a long while back, I was in Killay for work. There were no ambo's in swansea, all full so they sent one from Camarthen, my wife had a siezure one day and hers came from Bridgend. | | | |
