That money was needed to cover things going forward.
We needed to get a sale last summer and the club were honest with that, this year its been stated that we don't need to sell so in theory that money can be used for team strengthening. | |

I do not know the exact deficit but I suspect it is around £1m a month. This talleys with the £12m trading loss for last year which talleys roughly with the £12m investment to "balance the books".
Swansea needs some big ticket sales. The sort of money Norwich got for good young players like Godfrey. £30m or so. Perhaps this was Everton over paying. With Spurs and Arsenal interested in Wood this is the sort of figure Swansea should be hoping for.
Investors are not in Swansea to balance the books. It is not charity. They need to trust in Duff and Watson and make annual profits. Brentford is the model. Good trading and keeping one or two big stars. Toney in their case. Grimes in Swansea's case. |  |

You are a very reasonable poster but need to read more. There are no dividends. If paid in the past the Trust would be a good business concern as they would have collected 21% of all dividend payments. Over one fifth. A large percentage of the Trust s money came from the club in a £400k pay out in around 2013-2014 (a one off). Now they have no income other than subscription s they do not appear to be able to invest.
The Trust were upset with Jenkins and co because they did not pay dividends. Jenkins and co re- invested all moneys"back into the business" (infrastructure and players). The investment was for growth not income. The other shareholders wanted growth the Trust wanted income. This is a indication of the stresses that came to the fore after 2015 -2016.
The fans are mugs as they could even take their lottery ticket to the post office and failed to sell when their 21% was worth a whopping £21m. No one said anything. Not one of the members 1000+ heroes. Mugs every one of them. There was no personal gain so why speak up. Nothing in it for Mr standalone only distrust. If this was South east England SCST would have at least £15m in the bank. Sad to say but true.

Brentford bought Toney ahead of their promotion season with a small portion of the Benrahma and Watkins sales revenue. If they hadn't been promoted you can guarantee they would have sold him for a significant profit and brought in the next one on the list. No holding on to stars with them, keep that line moving.
