| WBA docked 2 points on 23:16 - Apr 24 with 1318 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I get the senses that these penalties are decided by looking at the league table. The 2 points puts them back in the relegation mix but it would be highly unlikely. All these penalties should be applied to the following season where their significance cannot be predetermined. For example a 5 point penalty could rule them out of play offs or promotion or even end up relegating them. It looks like a stitch up slap on the wrist with a notional risk. | |

There are a lot of things that don't count towards PSR, such as ground improvements, academies, ladies teams etc. So the losses of £21million will include a chunk for the renovations to the seating at the stadium as one example. This work was done just before the Cardiff City game, so that their hooligans could wreck them and it had to be done a second time! PSR doesn't take into account a lack of common sense!

You should pop in more often. PSR Is profit and sustainability. Which is the amount a club can lose over three seasons. Currently around 41.5M. A clubs debt isn’t PSR but can contribute towards it dependent on the way money has been spent over the last season not current 👍

The WBA overspend was less than £2M over the three year period this is the reason for it being just two points. To say it was decided on league position is a pathetic assumption by someone with little knowledge on the subject, can I politely suggest that you do a little research before making wild accusations to save continually embarrassing yourself. Didn't we completely paint and do maintenance to the stadium structure within the last financial year, although it may of overrun into the current year. It depends on the structure of payments. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Sorry Keith, I should have phrased that more clearly. I know what PSR is but as the Swans lost £54 million over the last three seasons, how close to the PSR are we?

You’re right! It’s the English FA looking after an English side Res. Imagine that was the Swans, we’d be instantly relegated and start on -40 points next season because we all know these points deductions are arbitrary and depend upon the whim of the governing bodies. You really don’t help yourself sometimes my friend!

We did a lot of work to the East Stand and you may remember is was shut for the early Carabao Cup games and pre-season friendly against Lorient. I'm imagining that it is this season's accounts, but there may be an overlap. They also spent a fortune cleaning the windows!

That’s something that the club can only know. As it’s a rolling three years then this could be a lot rosier than we think. Currently the Swans have matched and increased commercial revenue since December on the last declarations according to Tom Gorringe. But we won’t know until next year. I think judging by the special terms agreed when Walta was signed in January indicates that the club were close. For me I think it’s a case of having to bring in revenue in the summer. Be that player sales, new commercial partnerships (something is under discussion) and some in depth ideas for the new fans park.

Originally 3 but reduced to two as per the regulations. I wonder how many clubs are going to get caught out regarding the changes in charity expenses in relation to PSR, we as a club are involved with charities as are many.
