I see millibands’ new crusade is now against the humble tumble drier, our freedoms of choice are diminishing weekly with the first coal fires, wood burning stoves,fossil fueled vehicles, travel and many more, all of which designed to make our lives more miserable, expensive and inconvenient. It must be said though Swansea council are trialling power supplies to charge electric cars which park on the street now that be interesting , I wonder how many cables will be nicked for their copper so there is that positive aspect of it.

We got a condensing tumble drier, not a lot if anything cheaper than original one, plus I had to core out the wall for a vent, even though its in the utility "room" the smell of the drier does carry into the house

Our dryer packed up last month, we brought a heat pump dryer for £250. Condenser dryers started at about £150. Washing two loads a week, it should save us about £100 a year apparently.

Washing machine is on most days here, mainly because our youngest's condition which see's him soiling his clothes more than once/twice a day, he's been on form today he's on two lots so far today, luckily the weather is dry and the clothes are drying.

I priced solar panels up a little while ago, but at my age I won't get my money back, Ideally I just want them to run my Koi pond which can cost me over 20 quid a week,
Plug and go one's are on the horizon I'm told, starting around 500 quid.

I had solar panels fitted last September & my Leccy bill has reduced to next to nothing, in credit this month as I have only used my own generated & sold back to the grid offsetting any gas cost cost.
I am also charging my electric car at home.
No brainer imo.

Having a battery system installed would make the difference between it being worthwhile installing panels imo, we have them installed but the company receive the feed in tariff whilst we use the electricity generated .
