So it would seem, maybe .just maybe policies will standardise across all forces and go back to a time where the majority respect the law because they know & seen to be fairly enforced , without fear or favour. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news

The Home Office is where a lot of this stuff originates. It should be obvious to everyone by now that the issue is systemic. Positions of power and authority have been thoroughly co-opted by people working to a common cause and answerable to nobody but themselves. The whole Goddamn network needs to be ripped out by the roots. Huge swathes of the Civil Service, Academia and the Police need to be replaced with people who have the Nation as their primary interest, not their Fabianist goals.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

The police have to remain independent of govt or we get a police state

That’s impossible when the police are funded entirely by the government. We’ve seen it with the bbc. The whole machine goes into preservation mode the second funding cuts are threatened.

They are funded by taxpayers. The police and judiciary are independent of the govt. They have to be non political. This isn't the US, thankfully

🤣 in case you hadn’t noticed but everything is funded by the taxpayer . You truly believe that the police are independent of any Government legislation and judges for example are not activists in certain causes. The police carry out the wishes of a government , do you remember the miners strike ?

No, legislation is passed and the police have to enforce those laws, but the govt doesn't tell the forces how to run their affairs. I believe laws were passed on picketing which the police enforced - way over the top though. Same with the judiciary, they are selected by independent panels, unlike the US for example. The police have to be independent and police by consent, otherwise we will have a police state

The government decides how much of the tax intake goes towards policing. It’s a very simple concept.

Yes, the police get a budget, but that's nothing to do with policy. Senior police officers decide policy. It's quite simple really

Police policy in the UK is jointly decided by the UK government, the College of Policing.

The point is ministers can and often do use the threat of funding cuts to ‘influence’ policy.

As yet Starmer has made no mention of fast track justice for anyone arrested nor a concerted effort to find those involved and immediately jail them.

Your quote. When trying to say that the Government had nothing to do with deciding policy. "Senior police officers decide policy. It's quite simple really" When corrected by a fact. "Police policy in the UK is jointly decided by the UK government, the College of Policing." You swerved to. "How it's policed is down to senior officers" Sometimes its best to stop digging and admit you were wrong, you would get some respect then instead of being regarded as a joke.

Chief Constables: Every territorial police force is led by a Chief Constable who holds operational independence. While they must consider national strategy and local political priorities set by the PCC, Chief Constables alone decide how to deploy resources and manage day-to-day policing operations.
