 | News Comment | Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies by johnjubal1958 at 10:39:10
.... I'm not saying that running onto the defence should be done 100% of the time. Sometimes moving the ball left or right at times kept their defence guessing. Doing this keeps them confused by not know what the on coming player's is going to do. It keeps them on the back foot all the more! If they can predict what the on coming player is going to do then that would hamper our objectives if course even though the 50-50 situation can arise from it. No doubt our boy's are trained to expect the 50-50 situations, but being mindful of them being nervy gives us the edg every time. The boy's don't have put themselves under any pressure if they are the offensive force! |

I thought everyone in the team were excellent today. At times (getting rarer by the day) we looked pedestrian like coming from out the back. I know the player's need a breather during the game but I'm one of those guy's if you're being squeezed at the back then go long. Putting a ball down the flanks is better for us to run onto instead. Not down the middle where the risk is higher of their keeper is loitering on the outer fringees of his box. It was great to see Josh Key start to run at the defence too. The defence gets nervous and they worry not about not giving a free kick away. It also starts to open up as a result and pushing on rattles their cage! We need more or of these runs at the defence because they produce dividends. All sorts of possibilities arise from it and if not successful then it a 50-50 situation because the area becomes tight again. However, if we win from the 50-50 situation then that rocks their case even more! If we don't they are forced to go long rather than playing their way out of that tight spot and our central defence just pick up the pieces and start the forward move again. The midfielders by this time are back in position ready to receive the ball from the center backs! The point being, rather than going back or side to side which we all hate right, running at the defence opens up endless possibilities we can exploit! Jay F's goal was tipical of the goals he scores and everyone can learn from. Jay scores many not simple goals yet he makes them look simple! The midfielders, wingbacks should be practising this time of shot. He didn't over hit it he placed it the when the space opened up for him. Ronald's tackle made it happen because we were out of possession. Jay simple made that one touch space that gave him time to execute the shot. The other forward moving player's created that nevey situation in their defence because they were expecting him to pass to ball elsewhere!!! Jay didn't need to put any real weight on the ball. It was more like a golf chip with perfection! Yep, there was a lot to be learned from this one goal when you are "Mindful" the defence in front of you are the nervy ones. Jay simply took his goal in his stride without rushing it! Overall, it was a good watch for me with a clean sheet. Even though we under pressure ourselves at times the defense did their job. Looking at West Broms efforts the defence got in the way and closed down any possibilities of the oncoming threat! West Brom didn't score and therefore, a job well done!! |

Great to get back to back wins. How can you give Eom a player rating of 8? He was good value for the first 15 minutes but after that gets muscled off the ball far too easily for a professional footballer. The team played better when he went off and led to the winning goal. |

It goes without saying when the south stand is looking fuller than usual mention has to be made. Having trouble working that out. Which one is it it goes without saying but it has to be mentioned(said) If it really does go without saying why say it twice. Sounds like one of those puzzles in your Christmas craker What goes without saying but has to be said ....... Give us a clue |
 | News Comment | Swansea City : Hellberg dilemma not just a football thing by 121157 at 13:21:43
Can't believe that we are looking at a manager with no experience of championship football. I can't remember the last time we had a manager with premiere league or championship experience before they came here. The championship is an unique league and surely we need someone who knows what it's all about |
 | News Comment | Swansea City : Alan Sheehan is going nowhere, so get used to it EXCLUSIVE by johnjubal1958 at 12:33:11
I fully agree to a point and it's about points on the board at the end of a season right!? Yet, the same crown calling for his head right now are the same one's who called to give him the job! No one likes to be put under pressure because it effects everyone around them. The Swansea are known to be a family club right, do family members through a family member overboard when things get touch? Yep, they do! I will keep pipping the same mantra, be patient and wait and see. Sheezy not once but twice pulled us out of a mess twice but the nay sayers keep forgetting this big issue because they have short memories and demanding success and want it now! It's November for goodness sake and should we win on Saturday then everybody will be sucking up to him. They'll take the sweet and easy way rather than having through the tough times first! How many professionals sports men and women go through they tough times before they come good? All of them! Every player now are busting a gut for each other and for the fans and it takes a good coach to do achieve that. They did tell us it was not going to happen over night right but it's seems no one was listening! They pick the juicy bits and through out the rest because they don't want that do they! If you want to have success immediate then it's time to wake up, life don't work that way, or were you born with a silver spoon in your mouth and got everything you wanted by demand it?! It's time for some to grow up and their thumb out of the mouth and stop complaining! All I say is wait and see and if (a big if) things continue to the point of a change is required then let it be so. No one can predict what will happen next week let alone the end of the season! No, I refuse to jump on that bandwagon because people can't get what they want right now! Life isn't like that or have you not noticed? Hard work pays of is the old saying right and every successful person knows this! But nay sayers simply want their fast food and they want it now! Well sorry it doesn't always work that way!! |

The only issue here is if the football continues to be boring and pedestrian, attendance at home games will continue to decline. For every 1000 off the gate , after a further half dozen games the loss of gate receipts will start to outweigh the cost of compensation. I’m not saying I want him gone now , but I simply can’t see any progress and we’re sleepwalking into the relegation zone. It is a conundrum. |
