A week to go and aside of the annoying Tarquin ra-ra factor, looking forward to a tournament where ‘all’ the players won’t be rolling around feigning injury as if they were shot by a blunderbuss when they were hardly touched at all.
Kiwis to lose really, nothing revealing about that. But the fact they’re in the same pool as the Boks and neither would meet until the final, then assuming they both avoid defeat, makes it hard to look beyond an AB, Yarpies final. As the rest of us can be inconsistent and would likely have to beat both those behemoths to win it; hard to see anyone lifting the trophy.

England were immense, with Itoje leading the way. The scoreline flattered the All Blacks. South Africa a different challenge. On the basis of the semi-final they look very limited. As long as England match them in the forwards, they'll beat them with the backs, who are far more creative.

Jerome Garces appointed ref for Saturday. Good stuff, rate him highly.
¯_(ツ)_/¯ IZ OOT
Garces is an absolute joke of a ref, but give he basically completely abdicates any responsibility for making a call about the ruck, England need to be very cautious of SA's counter rucking and take very good care of their own ball

So the time is almost upon us. Anyone going anywhere special to watch it and starting on the sauce early? Am going to a local-ish rugby club to watch on big screen. Will try to hold out until half time for the first livener. 50% probability.

I've got a mate who lives in a cabin in the hills without electric and water who comes round for the rugby, and joins me in the pub for football.
He's a top man, a real character, but built his beautiful cabin on government land and they want him out, now they've worked out who actually owns the land. The land was used as a dump by local farmers, Dan cleaned it up, does loads of volunteering, doesn't take a penny off the state etc.
Our gov dept for ag and forestry has an annual biosphere person of the year award, Dan was nominated and in the final reckoning til the dept worked out that he's the same person as the one they are trying to evict!
My local MHK (MP) has been pushing for his removal, same bloke is also backing plans to concrete over our local beach and build 200 flats.
love sitting in his cabin with no sound but nature, no light but the stars and his fire and a glass of whisky..........

I'm Down the Broadway Pub in Leigh on sea for 8am. If England win the world cup 'er indoors will have to drag me from the battle cruiser Like Stone to the Bone James Brown with his stage handlers, at the Whiskey A go-go circa 1964.Â
The match itself  will no doubt be about as stylish as a set to between john Bindon and Tony Lambrianou in the front garden of a Pisshole seven kings hellbanianz knocking shop, i.e severely undomesticated.
I Dont'care about the cherubim and seraphim beauty of the game, I just want England to win. To Quote El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz...' By any means necessary' Â Â

Was going to Esher Rugby club to watch it but I've decided to watch it at home and if we win, go out after to celebrate. Loads of Saffas near me so dreading a loss as they will be unbearable, especially the Boneheads.

Esher RFC is where'll i'll be in 8 hours. If we lose it'll be Uber straight back to Kingston, if we win then carnage ensues.
Old Eugene and his Braai Army will be there. Stocky guy with mutton chop sideburns. Will be a good atmosphere, plenty of Boks to mix it up. Was there last night for their fireworks. Lovely club.
