Hard to argue with a word of that. He's really hurting tonight.

No doubt the moronic keyboard warriors will be out in numbers on clickbait sites feeding crap journalists twitter sh*te for MW's head, but he's right, if you have that many chances you have to put the ball in the net a lot more often. We can't keep gifting goals either.

It must be very difficult being a manager here because whoever manages or whoever plays here, year on year we seem to have a groundhog reaction to losing that has become a toxic culture. If heads drop we are in a bit of trouble. If they can ride this storm for once they will win before too long and go on a better run. But the players have to concentrate better than they are. As a manager what do you do when they don't? How do you manage that lack of concentration out of them?

Never knowingly right.

We are 11 points off the relegation zone which, at the beginning of the season I'm sure we would of taken at this point of the season. Considering MW has had one transfer window where he had to ship out loads and replace them with cheaper options I think we are in a good position. You can't build a team in one window. The fact of the matter is that some of the players simply are lower championship players. If they were consistent at the top of their game we wouldn't of got them for the price we paid (hence we wouldn't of got them at all).
I'm as frustrated at the mistakes we keep making as everyone else but we have got to be realistic. Changing managers all the time hasn't worked before so why would it work now? We need to give MW a chance, not only with tactics but also with building a team and getting the players that fits how he wants to play. Even Alex Ferguson took a few years to build a team with massive resources.

I don't think anyone is calling for MW to get the sack, the majority of posters on this MB are level headed people (I don't use any other form of MB).
What I would say though is, for as good a job he has done so far (and he has) he is not and should not be above criticism, another test is on the way Wednesday and it will be more difficult opponents than we had today.
Today's result was yet another kick in the bolox in the dying minutes, but we've got ourselves into such a bad malaise form wise their winning goal didn't surprise me at all gut wrenching as it was.
I normally judge football Managers by how they cope with a bad run of results not a run of good results.
January will be interesting with the transfer market and all the financial bolox that it brings.
We'll see.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

My only criticism of MW today were the substitutions, Smith for Amos, like for like, but Smith had no effect on the game what so ever and we seemed to go flat after that sub.
Also, Chair was the best player on the pitch and, as usual, he was substituted, Hugill had to come on but to remove Chair was crazy.

However, we need to support MW, he needs time to build this team and the players need to look at themselves after getting 1 point out of 9 when 9 out of 9 was so possible.

It’s 1 point out of the last 12....

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

Heh!

In fact our forwards can score, it's not so long ago that Wells and Hugill were among the top scorers in the division, with Eze not far behind. It's just that they haven't be scoring lately.

A team's weaknesses – and ours are primarily defensive – if not resolved will eventually spread. That's what's happening right now.

Them not scoring lately is the whole point though. Hugill and Wells have gone 15 games between themselves now without a goal.

Yeah but we know they can. They're not Conor Washington or Hemed who never could. The reason they've gone cold begins with mistakes defensively, tension runs through the team and other players try to over-compensate. It begins at the back but eventually affects everyone. Last year it began with futility in front of goal and by January had begun to erode our confidence at the back. Prior to that, even with Joel Lynch in there, we were very hard to break down.

"MW has to come up with the answers fast otherwise QPR will be dragged into a relegation dogfight and, whether you like it or not, the clamour for MW's head will intensify."

But thats just where we are in the grand scheme of things. Doesnt matter what manager we have. Its the players at these managers disposal. We're skint. Lumley would never have got in the first team a couple of years ago but we had to sell Smithies. Warburton brought his own keeper in but has given Lumley a chance.
MW needs time not be judged on half a season, which actually has seen us play some of the best football for years.

Don't be so naïve, those early season performances are chip paper now. It's a results orientated business; if the slide down the table continues then the board will have a decision to make because staying in the league is key, style is secondary.

Don't get me wrong - I like MW and want him to stay but he needs to get some results in the next few weeks to stave off concerns. That starts with dropping Lumley for Kelly.

Yes, it is only 1 point from 12 but I think Shunter was just referring to the Charlton, Reading and Hull games, all of which we could have easily won. The Barnsley game we never looked like winning at any stage.

You're right, it's not, but he knew what he was letting himself in for when he took the job on. Ultimately if results continue to head south who do you think will pay with his job? Fernandes? Hoos? Ferdinand? Lumley? No, it will be Warburton because football is a results-driven business and the manager's head is always first on the block. So MW has to find solutions to persistent problems and find them fast.
[Post edited 29 Dec 2019 20:02]

No one should pay with their job. Let's stop bloody sacking people and give people more than a few months to sort things out. We are 15th with 32 points, which *should* have been more like 40, if not more, but for rank carelessness. It is incredibly frustrating, but the short termism of some fans (and Fernandes) that demands bloody sackings all the time needs to be ignored. In so many ways the club has slowly been moving in the right direction. Stay the course. Back the manager. We will stay up (I hope!) and then next summer MW has some more time to mould his team.
At the moment, people are frustated about dropped points in games we should've won, because we can see what good football we can play. Last spring we were losing and looked like losing all the time. We have to hold on to the positives and I'm sure we will improve.

Bare bones.

This.

We're a lower mid table Championship team, and it's not going to change overnight with the current squad and by getting in yet another manager.

Let's see who we can get in in January, and give MW the time to build the squad he wants. Remember we're 15th, not 23rd.

The gaffer's already made it crystal clear that QPR will be doing limited business in January so he'll have to improve what he already has.

To be honest the average quality of players available in January is pretty low - so not point signing players just for the sake of it.
