There’s an inevitability about us selling our treasures, due to the appalling way the club was run.

For for while I’ve been resigned to a philosophy of “enjoy them while you can”.

Mind you it’s galling when you think of the spunkfest of waste there was on the likes of Chris Samba, et al, players we had no affinity with or no story of progression through the club.

It’s been a bloody steep learning curve, but, we have no option than to keep learning, until being a team that punches above its weight is in our DNA again.

Well Jack Clarke hasn't shown up for no reason.

Wouldn't surprise me if BOS leaves before Eze, now he's got his football brain together he could definitely play at a higher level.

Don’t think he’s signed a new contact so we may have to take what we can get or get nothing in the summer.

Haven't we got a year option to 2021, JC?

Because it's a $hite website that cobbles together talk from fans forums , puts 2 and 2 together and come up with 22 million pound fees in a made up story. They probably have to pay for his image in a QPR shirt so use any old photo.

Surprised it's taken so long for these rumours to appear. He has been unplayable for the last few weeks and the progress is a joy to behold.

He might seem more obviously a premier league player than Ebs because of his sheer physicality. I think he'll get even more attention.

But, and this is the best bit, I think we've done the hard work on FFP, and next season we'll be in an even stronger position. So long as the players don't go on strike (and I don't think they seem the type), we are now in a position to hold out for the big bucks this window and this summer, and if they rewnew their contracts we could even make a decent push next season...

Hard as it was, if last couple of years selling Freeman and Smithies on the cheap and getting full value for BOS and Eze, that's probably going to work out better, the high end of what we could get for those two is much higher

1 - "footballinsider247" ooooooooooooooooh.
2 - Under contract to the end of next season.
3 - Currently negotiating an extension to that contract so, naturally, helpful for the agent involved if a few Premier League clubs get linked to him, so he'll be putting it about that he's had enquiries.

True in the past, but we are no longer selling because of the appalling way the club was run. We are now selling because it's the only way to stay competitive and comply with FFP. In reality, this is what all clubs outside of the top 5 in the country have to do.

Bare bones.

Would it not be better at this time of year to hold on to the players and flog off some of our celebrity fans instead?

This is great news.

We as a fanbase need to understand that selling players is good! It means we are making money and building a club.
Spoiler alert, Bright needs to be sold. Might not be this window, the summer or even next Jan.. but at some point we need to turn him into cash.
Now he is in the first team and playing well it should almost be a case of 'job done'. Who is the next signing? Which lower league player or foreigner can we buy for peanuts and develop.

Bright, Chair, Eze, Masterson, Kelly.... they have all been brought to sell on in a few years

So how much do you think we can get for Clive, then?

On the original post, I'm having a hard time believing that there is all that interest in BOS. It is only fairly recently that he has been starting games. He has always shown potential but even in football a player doesn't go from free transfer to being worth 20 million after 5 great games.

Just sayin'

This is correct: no point in selling young players as soon as they have their first taste of success as you will not get top money for them. The only player who has played enough for us to build a decent reputation and increase his value enough to justify a big money move is Eze so far.

Yes we definitely have. The same with Eze and Manning who were both linked to Southampton. For BOS it will be Spurs turn to be linked next.
