Great article as ever.
Time will tell whether or not this will be a good appointment. But one thing for sure - all the stuff which has happened over the last 3 months - Cifuentes in, new CEO, signs of the beginning of a cleanout - should have happened 6 months ago. If we were taking an advisory firm, they should have been engaged at the beginning of may the second it was clear we were staying in the champ; and new CEO, manager in pre-season. Manager probably wouldn't have been Cifuentes due to Scandi season, but while I like Cifuentes, we've seen from other champ teams that good alternatives do exist. Instead we've faffed around for 6 months, and if we go down - which looks increasingly likely - IMO it's due to that. |  | |  |

A question - do you think there is a hint of a plan that if we did get relegated to throw money at League One and rebuild that way? Or would the owners' interest and deep pockets finally dwindle away?
I would be happy with investing to rebuild, but only if done sensibly and not just getting every ageing mercenary they can find. And it would seem to me the only hope of keeping Cifuentes on board.

I said yesterday that I found it striking that so many people watched the same interview only to have all of their varying views confirmed. I haven't read the 7 pages about the new CEO - why would I
...........what I can say after listening to the new CEO and reading about him I think he looks like a good one. I, also, like Hoos so I am glad that he has held onto the Chairmanship, what with the new Manager I think that we are getting a very good 'off the field' crew in.
BUT who knows, it could all be a disaster but I'm very positive about these guys.
The only disappointment is that the interview with the 'new broom' suggest (imo) that we may not be signing anybody this transfer window which tbh surprises me and could mean a very difficult task staying in the Championship. | | | |

Great round-up of Hoos, and while I (and, clearly, he) would agree a change was overdue, I think a lot of his haters are going to be disappointed about how little changes.
I don't know why, but this whole thing has tipped me over the edge a bit. I knew we'd get relegated under Ainsworth, but had a tiny bit of hope under Cifuentes. That's now vanished. Maybe it was because I had a dream I was watching us and no one was doing anything, and I ended up in a shouting match with a non-plused Lyndon Dykes and as I left Colback and Cook were being interviewed with big smiles on their faces despite the loss they'd just watched... but everything feels completely, utterly fked.
Nourry *might* be able to help transform the structure of the club, but the results of that won't be felt for years. Even if he can, this is not a guy who seems like he's going to be paying any attention to the fan experience or sorting out pricing or any of that stuff that affects fans and got so many people angry with Hoos. He's not Jim Frayling, is what I'm saying. A Jim Frayling next to him would make me feel better, but then Nourry would be a Sporting Director, surely. And do you need two people?
I'm very unnerved by you and lassel reporting on goings on at the training ground. Marti fuming. 'no matter how bad you think it is, it's worse' - I mean, what does that even mean? Morale? Player attitudes? Staff unhappiness? Stuff not working? What? When Larkeche forced that 3rd goal against Stoke and the dugout emptied, I thought 'blimey, they DO care'... but that seems a lifetime ago. I don't think, sadly, there is any chance Cifuentes will be manager here next season, and he'll probably be managing Watford within 2 months.
I'm bereft.
I said last summer we were miles away from bottoming out, and it feels even more like that now. It feels like 2000 again, with hope basically blown away. If, as you say, a corner is to be turned, that corner looks like being 10-15 years away to me. We have a poor squad that can't score goals, has a midfield too timid to pass forward, and can't defend set pieces. Whatever happens, miracle or not, a large portion of them will certainly be shown the door at the end of the season. So other than professional pride (!), I can't see them rousing themselves to put in the performances we need to get 8 wins and a few draws from 20 games. It just isn't happening. Other clubs have gone to league one and restructured and come back stronger of course, but there will be no happiness here for a long, long time. |  |

Pretty sure the bloke on companies house is our Christian Nourry. The companies house link has him a director of a company called HB Media Group. There is a Christian N. who is a 'Managing Partner' at RETEXO on LinkedIn who also has the same HB Media on his list of comapnies worked for. Would be a huge co-incidence otherwise. So I think we can say he's 26. |  |

Great piece and very informative, especially about Hoos which was very balanced, as my gut reaction to his interview was that he was patting himself on the back for safe standing and fan zones. What a legacy!
I do have a genuine question about Hoos that might show me up to be Mr Thicky, so apologies if it’s stupid but here goes.
Hoos has basically, in his own words , ‘retired’ into the chairman role. He says he wants to be more of family man , spend time with grandkids and be back in the USA looking after his poorly mother which is all completely understandable and actually the correct thing to do.
So why has he not walked away completely. Why not retire?
Why is he going to be a part time chairman and presumably, correct me if I’m wrong , taking a significant wage from us that we can’t afford and are about to dish out redundancies Willy nilly to ALL areas of staff at the club.
He said when Amit left, and I’m paraphrasing, that the Chairman needed to have more of a hands on, everyday role which Amit couldn’t do.
His role now is a complete contradiction .

Pushing 60 I may be, but I do genuinely try in all things, especially QPR things, to remain positive, realistic and forward looking. What's gone is gone and all that - move on.
But a 26 year old talking up a "next generation football project" just makes me feel...uncomfortable is, I think, the word. |  |
